Today’s generation watches a lot of television because we like to be entertained. Most people like to watch comedy shows because they can relieve stress from their day of work or they just want to relax. Either way, people like to laugh and feel good about themselves. The show that I think does this the best is “Parks and Recreation” because they incorporate a good story line with a lot of humor that can make most everybody laugh. “Parks and Recreation” is one of the best shows, not only in its category but in all categories combined. “Parks and Recreation” is a lot like its counterpart “The Office.” The only main thing that separates them is the painstakingly awkward situations in “The Office” that make the viewer’s feel uncomfortable because of the current situation in the show. “Parks and Recreation,” does much better at making the audience feel comfortable, while at the same time putting them in silly predicaments that are humorous to watch. A lot of this has to do with the cast of “Parks and Recreation” because they work very well together and as the seasons go on they grow in humor. The plot needs to be engaging for the viewer, otherwise the viewer will not be very entertained and will lose interest in watching the show. “Parks and Recreation” also needs a good sense of humor. Shows that are comedies that do not have good humor usually die out because people stop watching them. The characters of the show are what determine if the show is great or not. If they use bad actors it really destroys the whole show no matter how good the plot or humor is.
