Saving Private Ryan is an action packed movie that was based on World War II. The movie shows insight on one of the bloodiest wars, while also showing the reality of what war families have to go through.The opening scene starts with commotion in an army based telegram typing room. General Marshall is informed that in the morning three grave telegram will be sent to a Mrs. Ryan, informing her that three of her four sons have been killed in combat. Two of her sons where killed in Normandy trying to fight ashore to secure a beachhead. While her other son was killed in New Guinea in action. General Marshall hears about the situation, and tries to lessen Mrs. Ryan's grief by sending her other son, Private James Ryan, back home. This was historically accurate because many lives were lost during the war, and it was common to send soldier back home if siblings were killed. After there long journey to finding him, they brake the news to him of his brothers passing and their job to bring him back to the States. Ryan is shakened by his brothers passing, but refuses to leave his squad behind. The tells Captain Miller that his mission is to secure the bridge, and they are already short-handed at the task. It isn't fair that he gets to leave them, when he considers his squad as his last living brothers. Captain Miller doesn't agree with it, but chooses anyways that they are going to stay and help them secure the bridge. Miller soon learns that they are limited in man power and resources compares to the Germans. In order for them to win they will have to become resourceful by creating homemade weapons. They construct a plan to ambush them with "sticky bombs" and well placed sharp shooters within different
