Ralph realized how terrible people can be when they let their true colors show. Apathy is a complication of several neurological conditions. It isn’t classified as a disorder in itself, but rather a side effect of many different neurological issues. Many people define “apathy” as the opposite of empathy. In a medical definition, it isn’t just the opposite but instead a general lack of motivation to do anything.
