I offer my sincerest compassion in informing you that after six months of consultation and observation with and of you, Dr. Jekyll, I have concluded that you have Schizoaffective disorder. Schizoaffective disorder is a form of Schizophrenia that includes a major form of manic or depressive behavior. Like many other psychological diagnoses, Schizophrenia is not simply diagnosed, it is presented by other possibilities being ruled out. Through the course of my observation, I have noticed that you are socially withdrawn from your family and friends, you have frequent delusions, manic behavior, and muddled thinking. The difference between the two of these disorders is; Schizoaffective includes symptoms similar to those of Schizophrenia, but is accompanied with bipolar or depression. You display signs of both bipolar and depression, however one outweighs the other. I have concluded that you have Schizoaffective bipolar disorder due to sudden outbursts of acrimony and euphoria as well as a sufficient amount of social involvement paired with times of social withdrawal. According to your close friend, Mr. Utterson, you have recently lost contact with many of your friends but at times seem overwhelmingly outgoing (dancing with women and going to bars). He has also mentioned that you are almost two different people at times: ranging in personality and mannerism. Between 46% and 50% of people diagnosed with this disorder tend to rely on drugs or narcotics at some point in their life, similar to your substance abuse issues. I appreciate your honesty in sharing the addiction you faced while practicing and experimenting with medicine.
