Imagine, your head is spinning, you see things that nobody else seems to see, hear things nobody else seems to hear.You try to tell people about the things you are experiencing, but they can’t understand you. Chances are if you have these problems you have Schizophrenia. What is Schizophrenia, you ask? Schizophrenia is a disease, one with a history, symptoms, and a horror story of its own.

First of all, to understand Schizophrenia you’ll need to know about some of the symptoms that come along with it. Depending on the case, you could experience numerous things, some of which could be hallucinations, delusions, or talking in ways that others cannot understand. The symptoms come and go, and so far nobody has experienced all of them at once. Symptoms usually start between the ages of sixteen and thirty, and typically occur in men earlier than in women. Sadly, when the symptoms are severe enough, the victim cannot distinguish between life and fantasy.

However, don’t get your hopes up too high because so far these medicines can only treat Schizophrenia, not cure it. Antipsychotic medications have proven to be effective when treating Schizophrenia. Such as Thorazine, Prolixin, Haldol, Loxapine, Trilafon, Mellaril, Navane, and Stelazine. Patients could also get different kinds of therapy. They could receive Psychotherapy where a therapist helps them deal with their thoughts and emotions, Cognitive behavior therapy where they can learn to change their behavior, and a few other things that help the patient work through their issues and learn to live normally despite the unfortunate illness that plagues
