There are many mental disorders in psychology that people are diagnosed with often and in some cases tend to become severe. In this assignment, schizophrenia will be the main mental disorder focused on and five people will be interviewed in collecting their views on what schizophrenia is and how they …show more content…

Person 1:
I can define schizophrenia as a psychological problem one has because of their inability to act normally and they always act in rage and confusion and mostly do not get along with others.
Scientific evaluation:
Scientifically schizophrenia is explained to be a psychological disorder and patients with this disorder cannot function normally; they do not always act in accordance to that of a normal person but then have manic episode which serves as a minority due to their incontrollable mood swings and personality maladaptation however this depends if they have type 1 or type 2 schizophrenia. It is correct that schizophrenics are confused, these is due to consistent disorganized thought processes and the inability to separate reality from their imagination but then are aware and understand their actions but then cannot control them which conflicts their relationship with others at home and at work as they feel more comfortable with their delusions.
2. Person2:
People with schizophrenia act in a crazy way and mostly resolve to kill others. Their thoughts constantly run wild as they think of too many things at the same time.

The kind of medication taken can either increase the level of dopamine (neurochemical) or reduce it which influences the possibilities of schizophrenic symptoms to be visible. If the medication does not reduce the symptoms, the individuals might experience according to person 5 agitation, mood swings and fast unorganized thought processes.
Argument:
Psychological theorists describe schizophrenia similarly as impairment in the cognitive processes; they are described as confused and unaware of reality. These explanations are correct however in my observation while watching a video of a schizophrenic individual especially January Shofield, I viewed that they are aware of reality and their conditions however at a young age of 10 years like January Schofield, they are more vulnerable as they have not yet learnt completely to differentiate between reality and imagination.
Using January as my example again, whenever she was placed in front an animal she became a little bit more focused and relaxed better than usual. This came as an interest to me to view how some patients when placed before a stimulus they love or familiarized with the characters in their hallucinations, they relax just a little bit more
