IS THE POSSIBILITY OF POST-ANTIBIOTICS REAL? Imagining the Post-Antibiotics Future is an essay written by Maryn McKenna to emphasize focus on our lack of appreciation for what antibiotics have done for us and will continue to do for us, but only if we let them. She presents a very insightful and eye opening argument. She relies heavily on a very personal story as well as many facts and research to create such a convincing argument. McKenna begins her essay with recalling a time in which she found out about the death of her great-uncle due to a very infection.
Salves can accomplish the task of healing diabetic wounds due to the explicit features imparted to them by their constituents. A formal assessment of the benefits and drawbacks of medicinal salves would be quite helpful if you are in need of similar treatment. The prime ingredients in diabetic wounds salve are natural and thus do not pose any threats of reactions and allergies. The basic constituents of healing salves include camphor, spruce oil, tea tree oil and traces of phenol and ichthammol.
Honey, is a very concentrated sugar solution with a high osmotic pressure, making impossible the growth of any microorganisms. It contains fewer microorganisms than other natural food; especially there are no dangerous Bacillus species. Honey contains Bacillus bacteria, causing the dangerous bee pests, but these are not toxic to humans. That is why, to prevent bee pests, honey should not be disposed in open places, where it can easily be accessed by bees. However, some bacteria are present in honey, most of them being harmless to man.
After he found the cause of infection, Lister began to find ways to prevent infection. He had read about a chemical called carbolic acid that was poured on fertilizer to stop the spread of disease. Unfortunately, carbolic acid was so strong that it could burn skin, so Lister had to mix it with water to prevent it from harming the patient too much. The first time he used carbolic acid was on an eleven-year-old boy who had broken his leg. Lister covered the boy’s leg with a cloth covered in carbolic acid and the wound healed with no infection.
Another medication developed was penicillin. “Before the widespread use of antibiotics like penicillin in the United States, even small cuts and scrapes could lead to deadly infections.” (Little, 2021). This is why penicillin was such a good thing. Now soldiers didn’t have to worry as much if they got wounded in battle.
The most common treatment for these infections, caused by Staphylococcus aureus is the antibiotics. There are many kinds of antibiotics using in the modern days, but the first kind of antibiotic being introduced for treating Staphylococcus aureus was Penicillin in 1943. This kind of antibiotic stops the formation of peptidoglycan cross-linkages that makes the bacterial cell well stronger. This eventually makes the cell wall formation and degradation become imbalanced, consequently lead to the cell to die. Other kinds of antibiotic were quick introduced for treating Staphylococcus as well.
At the time not even the most straightforward diseases, for example, not even the common cold was curable. Until the best medicinal disclosure at the time was accidently found in 1928. Starting its potential amid World War 2, the entire world needed its hands on it. It was Penicillin. Penicillin left an imprint in our history, it expanded medicinal innovation, manufacturing and even diminished diseases.
Introduction It has long been said, even in biblical references (Luke 16:19-31) that dogs have somewhat of ‘special powers’ with regards to their healing abilities. (Patching, 2008) In some areas of the world dog saliva would be used as an antibacterial because it contains some similar properties to that of disinfectants, which would theoretically be able to kill harmful bacteria in wounds and aid in the process of the healing. If a dog has an open wound, the dog is likely to lick the wound in order to ensure that their saliva has direct contact with the open sore to prevent growth of bacteria that could lead to infection.
The medicine part comes from the very bizarre fact that gunpowder actually has medicinal properties when applied to a wound. This might seem rather untrue, but it happens that gunpowder has the strange ability to disinfect wounds that may occur from the wilderness, or other sources, just like how honey can do the same life saving action. In other words, if you were to be out away from civilization and were to sustain a wound you could disinfect it with either honey or
It also hydrates your skin. Honey is ideal for all skin types since it contains natural pH balancing properties. 2 tablespoons
A few months ago, I learn that south of where I live millions of honeybees have been killed because of acute pesticide poisoning in South Carolina to get rid of Zika mosquitoes. The bees cannot speak for themselves. At Wesak, when big energy is coming to our world, I concentrate the Christ/Buddha energy on Nature, and this includes the bees. I also concentrate on the birds.
Honey is so healthy for you and can also be used in so much more than just eating. There are so many different types of honey in the world, there are more than 300 unique types of honey available in the United States. The thickness, texture, color, weight and taste is all determined on the flower. Each flower has a different shape, smell and type of pollen which makes each the honey so unique. Honey is produced in every state, but some states don’t have the same flowers as others and certain types of honey are produced only in a few regions.
Every day millions of honey bees fly back and forth from their hives. They pollinate a plethora of flowers and produce great amounts of honey. Many people do not realize what bees do for them and their communities. Without bees, people would not have any fresh flowers or produce. The bee population helps provide growth to one-third of the food in the world (Haltiwanger).
Increasing incidences of antibiotic resistance among pathogens has created a demand to explore alternative treatment approaches. One such approach involves evaluating plant derived compounds for their activity against drug resistant pathogens. This study aims at examining the effect of green tea leaf extracts (GTE) on Metallo-β-lactamase (MBL) producing gram negative uropathogens. An ethanolic extract of GTE was prepared using soxhlet apparatus and its effect was studied on seven gram negative MBL producing uropathogens with respect to its Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC). In addition, the synergistic activity of ampicillin (a β-lactam drug) with GTE was carried out by agar dilution method to analyze the reduction in MBC of ampicillin in the presence of sub-lethal concentrations of GTE.
The use of honey for the skin is ideal. It is one of the best home remedies for sunburn. It will relieve the skin from irritations and soothing scratches, bites, and burns, as well as possibly reducing
