Furthermore, treatment options include observing, bracing, and surgery.
1. First, observing is one of the treatment options. This includes routine x-rays to watch and observe the curvature.
2. Second, bracing is a treatment option. Bracing is done when the curve is progressively getting worse. Most of the time you wear it all day or all night.
3. Surgery is the last option and happens when your curvature is hard to manage. During surgery, they insert rods and screws.
III. Conclusion:
A. The best way to prevent scoliosis from happening is to be very observant when it comes to those signs. Mainly be sure to attend all yearly physical checkups.
B. I had scoliosis surgery March 31, 2014. Even though I have a medical condition I think scoliosis has been one of the best things that has happened to me. Having to have scoliosis surgery, it put me out of sports and made me realize what else is out there for me without sports. I discovered something new for me by volunteering at the vet. I now have a dream to pursue a career is veterinary medicine. I thank God every day for this because something good came out of it.
