In the case State v. Mark Ducic, Mark is on trial for the murders of Barbra Davis and Donald (Don). Ducic had allegedly murdered Barbra for thinking she was going to tell the police about him dealing drugs, and Don for being the only witness to the murder. When Barbra died, her body was found with numerous drugs in her system and later her friend, Don was found dead too. When the coroner first received the bodies, she believed they had died to accidental overdoses, then after reviewing the police reports changed her mind to homicides that were done out through strategic planning. Ducic was said to have mixed oxycontin with other drugs to create a “hot shot” to make the drug injection look like an overdose.

Blake Shelton has sued a tabloid for defamation. On Monday, Blake Shelton has officially filed a lawsuit against the tabloid magazine, In Touch Weekly, over its released article in Late September. It claimed that the country singer had a drinking problem that contributed to his divorce from ex-wife, Miranda Lambert and that he was headed for rehab, AP reported. The defamation lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court and Shelton is said to be seeking more than $1 million for the damages.
-Summary Timothy Mitchell, father of 5 and a residence of Sault Ste Marie who is trying suing the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services Board. His claim is that during an arrest one of the officers, Keating who was detaining him had used unnecessary force. Mitchell had been struck by Keating near his left upper abdomen. During his hims time at the police station Mitchell claimed that Keating said “abuse, provocative and demeaning comments” and that Keating also pushed him from behind while sitting on a bench in a cell and as he left Keating he gave a “rude and abusive gesture to Mitchell”.
This test case of Bernie Banton and his case against James Hardie impacted not only individuals concerned about the issue but bigger groups such as the government and businesses. Those who have suffered from asbestos related illnesses and their family are encouraging for a new legislation to be passed, as it would allow plaintiffs to claim for damages within 12 months. The 12 month period is necessary as many people find out they have been a victim of asbestos related disease once they have passed away. The changes in the law have been successful in Victoria, Western and South Australia. Facts: Mrs. Moore entered into the Midwest City Target looking for a magnetic chess set and was informed that Target does not sell those. When Mrs. Moore was made aware of this information she started looking in the toy section. She picked up a telescope and the package was priced for around five or six dollars, so she purchased the telescope. Mr. Lanigan became aware of the situation and took the package from her car, led her inside, recited her rights, and accused her of switching price tags to make the item cheaper for her. One of Retail Shrinkage Control Employees also accused her of switching price tags.
This new education amendment helped bring some women’s programs into the NCAA for the 1981-82 academic year. Later Roby and then athletics director, Cedric Dempsey were involved in joining the university’s men’s and women’s sports in the early 1980s, taking a national leadership role in combined programs. To this day, Mary Roby stands as a figure to all of Arizona Athletics, but specifically women’s sports and her name is honored on the Gymnastics Training Center because without her the Gymnastics team or any women’s sport would not be here with the hard work of this extraordinary woman. On July 1973 Dax, an air piolet at the time, was injured in a propane gas explosion that took his life and took the life of his father and burned over 65% of his body that is more the two thirds of his body. Due to the accident he was left blind and unable to the use of his hands. For over 10 months Dax went under forceful treatment.
Notoriety a Modern Myth High profile court cases have been getting increasingly popular as time goes on. Court cases like the Casey Anthony and Scott Peterson trials are media dynamite. Although the media is legally allowed to be a part of these court proceedings, they still cause drama and stipulations that many feel would not be a factor if their presence were withdrawn. Notoriety, or being famous for bad deeds, is a characteristic engulfing many of Hollywood’s elite personnel; for this reason, many high profile cases have become even more of a media magnet. On August 15, 2014, the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, a potential 2016 presidential candidate, was indicted by a Travis County grand jury. The first charge of his indictment was for abuse of official capacity, which is a first-degree felony. The second charge, which has since been ruled unconstitutional, was for coercion of a public servant, which is a third-degree felony. Republican, Rick Perry 's two felony counts are based from his threat to veto $7.5 million in funding for the Public Integrity Unit and for seeking the resignation of Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg after she was convicted of drunk driving, and imprisoned. Botsford, Perry 's attorney, called the indictment a "political abuse of the court system."
Scott Peterson was convicted of the murder of Laci Peterson and her unborn son, Conner Peterson. He has been on death row for over a decade as he tries to get his conviction appealed. Peterson and his family maintain his innocence, even participating in a docu-series titled, The Murder of Laci Peterson. This has caused quite a stir among viewers who now say they have doubts about his guilt. Could Scott Peterson been wrongfully imprisoned for so long because of circumstances he had no control over?
The we have our only three full time employees. Starting with our executive director Ian Baxter, who is in charge of everything internally. Under him you have our program director Mackenzie Mack and recently resign Secah Shahib who are in charge of our different classes, School PE, budgeting, summer camp, and our local tournaments. Then we have Ryan Aaron recent grad of The University of Tampa: sport management program. His responsibilities are too register people into our program, run summer camps, and complete any tasked that is handed down to him from Ian Baxter and Mackenzie Mack.
Injustice The Scottsboro Case shed light on the racial practices expressed in law that made a great impact on the legal system today. The actual victims of the Case did not receive a fair trial due to the color of their skin. The ones who played the victims planned the crime, and their stories made no sense. But like many of the trials during the time it wasn’t based on the actual evidence that was found,or even the defendants ' stories.
Our group had the opportunity to interview Anton Goff, the current Director of Athletics for the University of Hartford. Goff was able to provide us with valuable insights on how he advanced through the ranks of athletic administration. He was able to explain how he uses servant and situational leadership styles to positively direct and influence his employees and student-athletes. He states, “I’m all about servant leadership so I want to help young people that want to get into the business and go from there, because I didn’t get to where I am today without help from other people” (Goff, Oct. 23, 2015). In doing so, he has advanced his athletic administration career from working as an academic advisor to ultimately becoming a Division I Athletic
"The State of California versus Scott Lee Peterson (Case number 1056770, 2005)", was an interesting case. This case was interesting because Laci was a very beautiful and seemingly young, friendly, and happily pregnant woman with lots of friends. Her husband, although attractive, had a kind of macho tough guy womanizer type of persona about himself. It is hard to believe or fathom someone being so cruel as to kill their pregnant wife, regardless of their marital problems. Laci came up missing on December 24, of 2002, the day before Christmas.
