Conflict Through Film Assignment The film I watched was “Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin Laden” and it was released in theatres in the United States in November of 2012. As the name suggests, the movie is about a team of Navy Seals who get followed through training and preparation for a nighttime raid on a compound in a Pakistan. The movie begins with the attempt to find Osama by following his underlings and tracing them back to himself or another who could aid them in the discovery. This is accomplished when Osama is supposedly spotted after surveillance of a compound where no technology is allowed in and the people who live there do not leave. In an effort to maintain privacy of those inside the compound all trash is burned and food is kept within the compound. Throughout the movie, a team of two men goes through different techniques and surveillance strategies to attempt to get an affirmative that Osama is within the compound. The hunt for Osama Bin Laden is considered to be something that even Americans, the people who have been the targets of attack for events since before and especially after 9/11 generally have been lacking support for. The amount of time and resources it took to find him and actually get to him in another country is a large amount of manpower and financial resources that could have been placed elsewhere to target terrorism and prevent other events from happening. The terrorism he has planned and actually taken place in is overwhelming and should be enough of a reason to try to stop him from planning more. However, shouldn’t the larger focus be on stopping the organization and making it harder for them to collectively achieve an attack? This exact argument is the problem that a lot of people had when targeting Osama was the goal for so long after some of his largest attacks have taken
