In regards to second hand smoking, many gain negative health related effects like severe asthma and even lead to lung cancer. In addition, therefore as a country there must be more specific regulations on smoking nearby others that don’t smoke themselves or don’t pressure others to smoke with them. Taking action is what needs to happen in order to protect younger children from developing these harmful effects. This position on second hand smoking is being taken because there are many that have been affected by asthma or other health defects that slim down what you can do in life. “On a national level, several laws restricting smoking in public places have passed...Some states have passed laws regulating smoking in multiunit housing and cars. Children of smokers have a much higher chance of developing respiratory issues and even cancer. In addition, adults and children around second hand smoke that have higher cholesterol levels have a higher chance to develop heart disease (Smoking). There is a 25 to 30 percent chance to develop heart disease in those that do not have high blood pressure or cholesterol are exposed to secondhand smoke (Smoking: Do). Also, the American Heart Association states that smoking along with second hand smoke are one of the most preventable cause of death. Including that it is also stated that 54 percent of American children are exposed to secondhand smoking (Smoking: Do You). Therefore children are heavily affected but even adults too. To prevent smoking among children growing up will change every single life and eliminate common smoking health issues in the
