Success is something that every person looks at differently and in America it is something that is strived for every step of the way by most typical people. The idea of success is planted in our heads at a very early age and is embedded in our culture as a part of the American Dream. Ways that success is approached are different depending on what drives a person, whether it's competitiveness or a strive for greatness. A competitive approach to success is described in Margaret Mead's essay The Egalitarian Error when she writes, "For many Americans, the concept of success is a source of confusion. As a people, we Americans greatly celebrate and admire the one who gets the highest grades, the one voted most attractive or most likely to succeed.
Those who achieve success do in fact work hard; however, there are also countless other factors that play a role in one’s success. Therefore, reading this book opened by eyes to the complexity of success. It is not simply one thing that can lead a person to success. Instead, it is a culmination of many factors that can allow a person to have a successful
Success should be defined as your way of life, how you are involved with a community, or how well you are with a job. Others may not have the same type of reasoning. For example, in the article, “8 Ways Highly Successful People Carry out Successful Plans,” written by blogger Jose Ramos, he states one way that a successful person can carry out a successful plan is by, “Saving Decision Making for Important Things.” In the article, he states, “Only a few decisions truly matter when you want to plan to succeed. They’ve internalized that every decision doesn’t have to be optimal or perfect, which frees them to make quick decisions most of the time.”
Did you know what? Everyone can be success. Of course, you have already known that. But why this world is in, there are so many people choose to be failure instead of success. This is just the matter of human’s mind setting.
People have different views on what success really means. Some say success is based on money or fame. If you have a lot of money or fame you're "definitely" successful. Others say success is based on your fulfillment and overall happiness in your life. Alfred Brooks, the protagonist in the novel
So why isn’t everyone successful? Some believe that success is only a matter of will and only a person can decide if they want to become successful or not. This is not true; a person’s background ultimately
One of the most popular family names in all of America is the Kardashian-Jenner family. They are famous for their reality television show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians; all of their clothing lines, like DASH and Yeezy; and top of the line companies, with one created by the 18 year-old Kylie Jenner who also has her own cosmetic line. Each member of the family has something to be proud of for what they have accomplished, and risen up in the popularity chart. A lot of people know of them, but they don 't know how they became famous. Many people know who the Kardashians are, but don 't know how their lives were before fame, why they became famous, or how fame has changed their lives.
Learning to become successful is different for everyone, even you are famous are not. The book “The Outliers” by Malcom Gladwell will be “good news” for anyone to read, even if they are average. Think of success like watching a tree grow the branches split into different paths one can take each split is another opportunity to prosper and grow beautiful leaves like trophies. An uncommon belief is that the process of becoming successful is like a tree branch, if one starts off strong, more paths appear growing from the sturdy branch, and achieving goals lead to leaves growing to show wealth. “It is those who are successful, in other words, who are most likely to be given the kinds of special opportunities that lead to further success,” (Gladwell 30). Author of nonfiction book Outliers: The Story of Success, Malcolm Gladwell, agrees with this uncommon belief, in his book he argues that success does not come from intelligence or passion
Since the beginning of their rise to fame, critics have repeatedly panned the Kardashians as being “famous for being famous,” yet their influence as cool icons continues to rise. As Harriet Ryan and Adam Tschorn write in the Los Angeles Times, “their popularity comes despite the fact that the sisters lack the talents that traditionally lead to superstardom and, some believe, partly because of it” (Ryan, Tschorn). Something about Kardashian sisters attracts men and women to religiously follow them, but more specifically white, college educated women who are 18 to 34 years old. Lower quality of work: C-list celebrities may not have the same level of critical acclaim or quality of work as A-list celebrities, and as a result, they may not be as popular or in-demand. Lack of unique personality: C-list celebrities may not have a unique or distinctive personality or talent that sets them apart from other celebrities in their field.
Their stardom erupted and the Kardashian sisters, who are the main characters of the show, proceeded to launch clothing stores, beauty lines, and dominate on all social media platforms. The Kardashians are now known figures around the world. Because of this, what they consume or do influences the consumption and actions of individuals internationally. A Kardashian endorses a product and those who wish to look like or live like them, flock to buy it. This pattern is practiced in society amongst all age groups, although the celebrities whom we
I agree because the Kardashians represent more and more of what you see in your everyday life. The Kardashians are more relatable because they are want is considered normal to us Americans.
