Self-evaluation on my Research Assignment
Introduction.
This paper is a self- evaluation on my research assignment that I did in one of the WRTG 101 classes. I will try as much as possible to analyse my essay which was on the topic “Political and Economic Success in United States”. This work took me a total of three days to carry out an extensive research on the positive stride that the United States has made, both politically and economically. It was a four- page work that was aimed at assessing my skills in research and writing skills. I tried as much as possible to apply the skills I had learnt in the WRTG 101 class and I did consult a lot. My …show more content…

I chose this topic because first, I personally have a great passion for both political and economic issue. I always find myself thrilled a lot by any topic that concerns the two issues, that is, politics and economics. I really wanted to carry out a very thorough research on these two issues for I could get a deep understanding of the issues and as well develop an insight in them during the process of the research. The other reason why I chose the topic is because the debate on the political and economic achievements made by the United States over time has been very strong in almost every media (televisions, radio, newspapers and other social media such as facebook and twiter. This to a large extent influenced my decision in chose that topic as I really wanted to get the first-hand experience about the state of politics and the economy of the United States. The third reason why I chose the topic was the fact that in my school life, majority of my teachers and lecturers have mentioned the United States severally arguing that United States has had the greatest developments and success in both the aspects of politics and economics. They had even concluded that other nations should use the United States as a benchmark to gauge their achievements and to realise where they have not done things correctly and change their political and economics approach accordingly if they really wanted to develop and get …show more content…

I can really say without fear of contradiction that I learnt a lot during the research process and during the essay writing process. I gained several skills that I am sure will be very useful in future. I can prove that the skills I gained in essay writing will be very useful in future both n further studies and in my career as I am now very conversant with essay writing techniques. If for instance a future employer asks me to write an essay on how to improve customer relation in the company, I know the format that will make my work look professional. Gauging my work, that is, the research process, the analysis of the information I got and the essay, I can say that I was above average.
