The point of these oral presentations was analyze how the authors of the texts presented their persuasive arguments. The goal of my group in particular was to read the text carefully, more than once, and break down techniques that the author uses to make himself more credible, logical, and emotionally connected to the reader. My partners and I looked for patterns in the author’s writing style and tried to understand why he chose the words he used. In, What You Eat Is Your Business by, Radley Balko, it is evident that Balko uses humor and rhetorical questions to make his point that literally what you eat should be your own business.
Be on the lookout for Michael Hastings and Nathan Jones they are the suspects in the stolen money from Hucks this morning. They were driving a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu Missouri License number MM1P5D. The vehicle belongs to Felicia Skaggs who is Michael Hastings’ girlfriend and I have been informed he lives with her at 123 Fashionable Circle on East Outer Road. As of the time of this email the vehicle was not at the residence and it did not appear as if anyone was
I chose this two speech’s by Ethan Crabtree and Ben Everett because they were both similar in the topic. They were about the nutrition of the human body and how Aspartame affects the human body. In this paper, I will be comparing and contrasting the way they were delivered, how much knowledge each one the speakers seemed to have about their topic, and there visual aid work such as, handouts, PowerPoints, and or poster boards. And the highlights of each speech. Ethan’s speech was about how a good balanced diet and exercising can be very advantageous to the health of your body.

Thousands of women have screamed at the top of their lungs, clawed at the patriarchy, and tirelessly fought for their rights as citizens of the United States of America. From the beginning of mankind, women have been labeled as inferior to men not only physically, but mentally and intellectually as well. Only in 1920 did women gain the right to voice their opinions in government elections while wealthy white men received the expected right since the creation of the United States. A pioneer in women’s suffrage, Susan B. Anthony publicly spoke out against this hypocrisy in a time when women were only seen as child bearers and household keepers. Using the United State’s very own Constitution and Declaration as ammunition, Anthony wrote countless
Nowadays in America, we are encountering problems with our food system. The way it’s being processed is affecting everyone. From youngest to oldest, farmers to lawyers and smallest to biggest animal. Consumers are made to believe that they are buying and eating healthy foods , but the labels that led them to believe that are not completely honest. The essay “Escape from the Western Diet” written by Michael Pollan is an explanation of the theories of the western diet.
Throughout America's history, the design of our currency has been changed quite a few times for reasons such as, avoiding counterfeit threats or to instill and show our American pride. In 2020, the U.S. will be changing the face of the $10 bill to a woman's face. The year 2020 is significant because it is the 100th year anniversary of when women gained the right to vote. You could say there are many women that deserve this honor, but I believe that Lucy Stone should be the one featured on the bill because of her many contributions to the evolution of American democracy. Lucy Stone lived in a time when the only main figures in society were white, adult men.
Indicating that youth are the sole opposition to animal testing and that they are somehow hypocritical for their criticism of animal testing wouldn’t fare well with a younger audience. Lastly, the final area that could use improvement is the overall structure of the speech. It was hard to follow, and if the speaker could make clear points it would improve the speech and make it easier to understand the overlying theme. To conclude, a persuasive speech can utilize many different concepts including persuasive concepts, verbal and nonverbal, as well as overall effectiveness.
Sometimes in we know things are wrong but this rive some people to want to do it even more. How I see it is Felicia Robinson opponent wanted to win so bad that they decide to twist the facts and push people to think about a heated subject. When Felica district attorney found out about the schema and decide to use it, for their advantage shows that any good morals could be turned to something wrong. In the US, 40% of food produced, or approximately 365 million pounds of food, is wasted each day. Food waste, however, is a problem that extends beyond America, affecting billions of people as a global issue. The overwhelming amounts of food that are being discarded contribute to global warming and climate change, and prevent the massive number of hungry people from being able to eat nourishing meals. Humanity as a whole must be more mindful of the Earth and its health, as we are the source which most directly affect it. Due to the profound environmental impacts of food waste, a reduction in the amount disposed is necessary to create a more sustainable environment, and humans have a responsibility to protect the planet, even if it requires drastic changes to the current food system.
