Senior Exit Portfolio

How did I become a better writer? To become a better writer you have to start somewhere. I started to become a better writer during my senior year of high school. The class of 2016 senior exit portfolio was the break out of my writing skills. A collection of personal essays and a seven page research paper will change the way i write forever.

The first day back to school from winter break January 4,2016 in World Literature my last class of the day we were told that we will be having a senior exit portfolio added to the curriculum to meet the requirements for graduation in May. This portfolio was being used as fourty percent of our overall final class grade. This meant that if i were to ignore and or fail this portfolio i would lose my grade

These were simple for me do to the fact that these essays asked for me to tell about my own aspirations in life. Writing my career essay took a little digging into the deeper aspects of the fashion world and the way it operates. I was pushed to find the further reasoning for why i wanted a career in the fashion industry as a luxury brand owner and fashion designer. Finding what it takes to break into this field and be successful. Now to the long and short term personal goals essay. This essay was a breeze. Within this essay i had to tell my short term goals as in education, career, and just general life within a three to four year time frame. Within the long term goal section of this essay i was speaking upon my future goals within a seven to ten year time frame. This section consisted of also educational, career, and general life goals but also incorporated long term personal goals such as family, and lifestyle goals. Writing these two essays made me understand the aspects of MLA formatting and grammatical

My educational philosophy told about the way that i personally felt about education and how much it is needed in your future career and life. This essay was a brain stretch because at this point in time i was on the verge of not attending higher education and attempting to start my fashion career from the ground up without formal education. Bad idea I know . I began to work with my literature teacher to look into the reasoning for education being needed in my desired future career choice. With time and effort i established why education was needed for my career choice. After finishing my educational philosophy i had to begin to work on my research paper on the book “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley. There was a big problem with this, i did not like to read nor did i have any interest in the book itself. Or so i thought. I began to read the book and slowly began to like the topic of a perfect utopia. I took one week to read the book and was impressed by how much I liked it so I began to write. I came up with the topic of “ Does Huxley Prove That Humanity Would Not Prosper From Life Within A Utopia”. This topic was perfect due to the fact that this was one of the main topics to the entire book itself, I had plenty to say about this book and my chosen topic.
