I was in a chess tournament about two years ago against many people in my school because I joined a chess club. Unfortunately, I didn 't get far in my last one and was hoping to be better this time. I was doing well until I saw a seventh grader paired with me in the semifinals. I was very nervous because last time I went against a seventh grader I lost and was knocked out from the tournament. But this time I was a lot better at chess than before so I had not a lot of doubts even though a lot of people thought that the grade seven was going to win.
In order to maintain good grades I make sure I do all my homework and I take notes in class. When I find myself struggling I find out what steps I can take to help me understand my schoolwork. This year
Reading homework consists of reading at least 20 minutes nightly and keeping track of a reading log. Science and social studies homework consist of any unfinished classwork or projects. Finally, don’t forget that there will be no school November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.
I disagree with this decision you had made. I don’t think there is a reason to cancel the 8th grade advancement. The 8th grade Advancement had been a tradition at this school for many years. I think It is an expected and anticipating part of the the 8th grade school year. I feel that so many students and parents have been looking forward it, I do not think it is a good idea to cancel it now.
One accomplishment I would like to accomplish this year is to start liking to read. Because if I like to read, then I can read and write my summary about what I read for reading class in school. And another reason why I want to start to like to read is because I could then take a quiz on the books and try to make it to the AR parties more often. I have more things that I would like to accomplish this year and some of them are getting my grades higher, making a lot more friends, and getting high achiever. This year, I am one of the A-B honor roll students, but I would like to get to be one of the “all A’s students for honor roll.
After being at St.Michael’s for eleven years now, I finally feel like I have reached the top of the food chain. Being an eighth grader is to be a leader, it means that you get to be there for your friends and school mates. I am honored to have been at St. Michael’s for so long, and I hope to exceed my exceptions. Eighth grade is very different from any other class because of the rigorous school life, responsibility and leadership, and time management. When having these expectations some side effects may be loss of sleep, stress, and complete joy of being an eighth grader!
My last worry that has faded is that there will be a lot of homework. A reason why I felt this anxiety was because with volleyball every night I knew I would need
I haven’t even finished the grade I’m in and I’m worried about not getting my school work in for high school. How ironic. My adventure side is excited to have more freedom, more options, more classes, longer lunch, more people to friend, new teachers, and bigger school! I feel like I have so many questions I want to ask.
I rarely had homework in middle school and elementary. That all changed in high school, as I had a homework assignment on the first day! On top of it all, I find out that the ACT/SAT test impacts my college admissions. Both subjects of homework and standardized tests now stress me out. If I don’t complete this homework assignment by tonight, how much will it affect my grade?
School has always been my number one priority. I focus hard to achieve the grades I want by making sure I turn all my homework in on time and studying for tests. Sometimes school can be very stressful but I have to push myself to strive for the grades I want. I have learned that before taking a test you need to make sure you study in as many ways possible so when the test day comes you will not have any issues. Another thing that is difficult and for me gets in the way of school is having a job.
Accomplishments This school was considered a one room school house, therefore, has a teacher I wore many hats. My accomplishments are the many skills, knowledge, and abilities I developed through my one year at this school. Some of the many skills and developed abilities that allowed me to appreciate and understand the importance of preparing students for the twenty-first century. As a teacher, I had to put the necessary principles and application theories into practice for effective instruction and positive behavioral supports that are beneficial to all my students.
The school use to start at 9am and it gets over at 3pm and then there is a tutoring program which running from 5pm to 8pm. The homework isn’t to bad because sometimes the teachers make us do it during class time and working on the homework with friends as a team work use to be fun. In the article “Down With Homework” the author says “Overwhelms struggling kids and removes joy for high achievers” I disagree on this statement because homework is a part of confidence and helps us to improve in our daily basis studies and keeps us on track. The idea that overall about homework it helps children to learn better and give them a better understanding of what they are learning in the daily
In 7th grade you need to be more organized because you might loose your belongings. To stay organized you need to clean your lockers, and book-bag every other month. Also have folders to place your homework or assignments in and to stay organized. If you have binders use
Having too much homework stresses a person out, lowers grades, and doesn’t get done because one has little time available. “[S]tudies have found that high school students may also be overburdened with homework- so much that it’s taking a toll on their health” (Levy 3). Stress can be caused by excessive amounts of homework, which can be bad for your health- hence why being burdened with so much homework can cause a strain on one’s health. Due dates stress a person out because someone will get homework and it’ll be due the next day. What about work?
Instead of forgetting about an assignment that is due tomorrow, a student can already be ahead of the game by knowing when things are due. One way is to get a planner. A planner is a great way to keep organized. Use the syllabus the teachers give you, and write down the assignments that are due ahead of time. This allows the student to get a look of what is coming up.
