I have a few questions/ concerns regarding the obligations of STCC faculty who teach sections with SECHS students. This semester, Ms. Lapetria Rhoe is teaching said classes. There appears to be some confusion as to what the extent of her obligations to the high school are. It is my understanding that Ms. Rhoe is hired expressly by the college not the high school. The high school students are taking college courses, and LaPetria 's only responsibility to the high school is to teach their students.
Some people at Webb City High School would be very angry to find out that they will no longer be allowed to participate in extracurricular activities due to their grades. The students who really want to play sports though would get into gear and get their grades up to prove that they deserve to play. What is a School without education? Pointless. Other people in the community believe that the “C rule” is not fair for the people who do not participate in any extracurricular activities because they will not be being punished.
Many students would stop their schooling and education after the eighth grade so the students could begin to help out their parents by beginning to work and providing for the family: “For many, education ended after just eighth grade; in order to graduate, students would have to pass a final exam” (McCarthy). This style of teaching doesn’t do the best justice for the students. Within such a short period of time students had trouble being able to retain a lot of what they had learned, and also never reach their full learning potential and expanding their
And the answer is no schools should not be on regular schedule also I have three reasons with support for each reason on why we should not have school on this great day on which we should remember the people who sacrificed so much for our freedom. Frist reason is families should and need to celebrate
The Early College High School (ECHS) model is an innovative concept that allows a predominantly low-income, first-generation minority student population obtain a high school diploma, an associate’s degree, and a baccalaureate degree in six years. The blending of instructional approaches of a traditional high school with those of a two-year college enables ECHS students to reduce the time it takes to earn a baccalaureate degree by two years. As a result, graduates of this model obtain a high school diploma and associate 's degree in four years. The associate degree credits (about 60 hours) are then transferred to a four-year university, where the ECHS student is automatically considered a junior in college, and is able to graduate with a baccalaureate
The school has had to make budget cuts but thankfully has kept the band program. This is one example of an extremely fortunate school, but unfortunately this isn 't the reality of it for every school. Many schools in the Chicago area have had to cut their music and arts programs. They laid off over 1,000 teachers and 10 percent of them being art or music teachers.
Getting rid of these classes could potentially cause teachers to lose their job and students would consequently be losing money they could have saved for college. In many circumstances these students may not get other opportunities to show off their skills if these classes were not offered. Removing elective classes would decrease the social skills of students and take away something they enjoy as well as taking away all the potential benefits thet would have recieved. Students take classes that peak their interest; thus, by taking these classes, students are able to make friends with similar interest. However, some claim that removing electives would allow students to focus more on school instead of work instead of socializing.
I think that we should keep the 8th grade graduations. Graduation for the 8th grade is a big milestone in teens lives, because it means they 're going to high school. I think that it also lets people get the chance to expand a skill of theirs like (for me) art, since they can get awards for things like that, and a few other things. My opinion on the 8th grade graduations, are that they are pretty cool (even though they are long).
Eighth grade will be a stressful year due to all the preparation for exams and high schools in the near future. In eighth grade, we will learn facts that were never covered in the previous grades. The teachers would also be a lot stricter and scarier this year. Over the course of only one week, I’ve acquired new knowledge on several different types of subjects. In a short period of time, I’ve learned many new words and terms in both social studies and reading.
As a freshman the transition was some what difficult for me. These are somethings I think would be good to new for the middle schoolers that are tranistioning into highschool. First keep organized. I can 't stress that enough because if you don 't you will lose things really easy and become a real mess. Another thing is a personal opinion but I don 't think that going to your locker every passing period is a good idea.
“Baby, I promise I’ll be back soon. There’s no need to cry, I’ll be back before you know it.” The worst phrases that I was accustomed to hearing almost every year. Being with your mother is a place that will forever be a child 's favorite sanctuary, however, I never experienced that sacred temple. Because of this missing piece in my life, transitioning has never been easier.
The ideal model of schooling for young adolescents is the middle school model. The middle school model allows for a smooth transition from elementary school to middle school. The model also takes into consideration the developmental needs of adolescents. The middle school model best fits the uniqueness of the young middle school learner.
Many students believe that high school seniors should be provided with privileges in honor of their completion of high school. Seniors, they argue, deserve additional rights, considering that they are practically adults and will soon be attending college. To further this transition, as well as prepare for it, there have been numerous privileges granted to high school seniors across the nation, ranging from primary parking to the shortening of schedules. At GHS, senior privileges are implied rather than established.
Dear, 8th graders One of the most things going into high school is P.R.I.D.E. You may be asking what P.R.I.D.E is and why is it so important. Well that is why I am writing this letter. Hopefully by the end you should know what P.R.I.D.E is.
The transition from Primary school to Post-Primary school is a difficult time for anyone involved. It is one of the most drastic changes that students will ever encounter in the educational career. The transition is typically filled with anticipation and anxiety about homework, teachers, peers, academic rigor, school rules, getting lost, and many more factors. For the typical student, it is a whirlwind of emotion and anxiety. For students with special needs, these worries become even more prominent for the pupils and their parents.
