What is a sexually transmitted disease? A sexually transmitted disease is an infection passed from person to person through intimate sexual contact. Sexually transmitted diseases are also called STIs (sexually transmitted infection). The only way to protect yourself from STIs or STDs is by using condoms. Today I will try to be persuading you to always have safe sex because you can always catch HIV/AIDS, Chlamydia, Herpes, Gonorrhea, Crabs, and Scabies. The biggest risk that you are willing to take is getting pregnant, which will lead me to my next point. One million teens in the USA will become pregnant over the next twelve months. HIV leads to AIDS, HIV infects human cells and uses the energy and nutrients provided by those cells to grow and reproduce. AIDS is a disease in which the body’s immune system breaks down and is unable to fight off certain infection. Chlamydia is the most common disease in the US; about one million are diagnosed from it annually. Chlamydia is a common sexually transmitted diseases, it can cause a women’s reproductive organs. I was on Youtube and I came across this video. This video is about this subject but it was worse, this guy plays men’s college basketball. He is being sued 1 million dollars in a lawsuit after accusations lying saying he didn’t have STDs. His girlfriend he was talking to at that time had just found out that he had a sexually transmitted disease and two weeks later she was diagnosed with Herpes.
