All Shapes and Sizes of a Hero
In the short story "The Train from Hate" by John Hope Franklin. A mother and her two children always made a special trip traveling by train to visit a town to shop for supplies. The family entered the wrong section of the train, in the years of time then it was a racial separation. The conductor of the train seen the family sitting, and instead of him escorting the family to the correct section to change seats, he escorted them off the train altogether. As the family was walking her son started to cry, the mother explained to her son not to cry. "It was a law of separation of the race, keep his head high, they did not, and could not make her inferior in any way." She encouraged him more, at the end of the story he seen his mother smile as she was embarrassed, and did not choose a fight. (Franklin) In the eyes of her son is she considered a hero?

The story struck me in the idea of a hero as it explained the strength of the mother. Parents who are taking care of their responsibilities showing their children it is okay for bad things to happen because it keeps them learning about the real life situations example to the short story. Parents are kid's mentors; some fathers create groups for younger adults; boys and girls. Parents comfort and become best friends with their children. A little kid loves superhero characters but every day the kid tells his parents they are his hero because he knows they work hard to give him a better life. Parents encourage their children to keep their pride high and love everything they do, never give up so quickly because things seem to get rough in life. That's a hero to
