Ethics is about having good morals and values. Being ethical means your honest and truthful. The films Shattered Glass and Wage the Dog told a different story but they both had ethical implications. A common issue was truthfulness. While Shattered Glass was a true story and Wage the Dog was not, they each consist of lies being told to the public. In the film Shattered Glass, Stephan Glass was a young journalist at the New Republic. Glass gave his editors what they wanted because he made his stories interesting and exciting. The editorial process has become more advanced with stricter rules making it much harder to be dishonest. While Wag the dog is not a true story I believe those events could happen. The government has so much power over the media and if they want to put out a sandal to hid the real problem I believe they can. Although it’s wrong, the government can and will always get away with it because of the amount of power they have. Yes, both films have characters being dishonest but Wag the Dog was worse because they took unethical to a whole other level. Stephen Glass was lying to his audience but he did not harm anyone. Conrad Brean along with several others including the president lied to all American people. Who should lead a country is a pretty important and that should not be surrounded with lies. They also had a human being killed over this sandal because it had to stay top secret. Again, Each film had ethical
