Sherlock Holmes Imagine a dark and smelly room that is really crowded, just because you broke the law and did something dumb, well that’s the consequences when you do something wrong. The countess lost her jewel because somebody took it, and then later somebody ended up finding it in a goose. In my opinion Sherlock Holmes did the wrong thing by letting those nasty criminals go. In the first place, Holmes broke the law by letting them go and he should be punished also. Sooner or later everybody ends up breaking the law, but they also get punished for it. Then Ryder and the countess’s maid framed the janitor instead of taking the blame for themselves, now that’s just a crime itself. Guilt is not a good punishment for a criminal, especially if they took something that wasn’t theirs. In the second place, they probably think that they will always get off the hook when they do something wrong. They probably still think that they could steal from other people. They might even think that they could do even worse than they did before. They might still think that it’s still okay to blame other people for their wrong actions. In the third place, the criminals put a jewel in a goose and didn’t pay attention to how many geese there was with a black stripe down its back. Holmes broke the law by letting them go. For example, it is just wrong to put a jewel in a goose, and you shouldn’t blame somebody else for something you did even though you did it because you didn’t want to take the blame for you own consequences. Sherlock Holmes might have saved their souls but, he still broke the law by letting them go and the criminals also broke the law by stealing a jewel.
