Shin splints are a common problem relatable to exercise. Shin splints are a term that is referred to the pain felt along the inner edge of the shinbone (tibia). After physical activity is when shin splints are typically developed, often associated with runners, dancers and military recruits. Any sort of vigorous activity can initiate the beginning of shin splints, especially at the start of a new training program. As a result of this, the muscle, bone and tissue of the lower leg becomes overused and agitated.
