Murder in New Mexico and Three Cases that Illustrate how the Statute is Implemented The three cases that I will be looking at are: State v. Contreras, State v. Nieto, and State v. Garcia. To start off I will first summarize the case of State v. Contreras. The case number is 21455. The defendant was charged under the section 30-2-1 along with tampering with evidence and unlawful taking of a car.
Today, 14 people were killed and 17 others were wounded by the mass shooting that occurred in San Bernardino- California. Three gunmen entered the social service center located in San Bernardino and opened fire on people. Witnesses claimed that the shooters were armed with long guns, wearing ski masks and military-style vests. The chief police Jarrod Burguan alarmed the people to be safe because one of the killers is still free and they didn’t find him yet. However, the police managed to identify one of the killers called Syed Farooq.
A note containing a series of numbers was found in the hotel room where the Las Vegas massacre was fired, investigators believe that those numbers helped the gunman to make his shots more precise. These numbers included the distance between the height of the room and the concert. It still has not been possible to determine what caused Paddock to carry out the shooting. Vice President Mike Pence showed up at a prayer service in Las Vegas on Saturday to remind victims of the attack. He said that the memory of the victims of the massacre would be engraved in the hearts of the Americans.
The shots that were fired were too fast to just be one person because the bolt action rifle that was supposedly used couldn’t fire that fast even professional shooters that we tested couldn't do that and the shots that were fired came out in less than 10 seconds. On April,20,1999 11:19 A.M they shot the first students which were Rachel Scott and Richard Castaldo. The next students were Sean Graves, Daniel Rohrbough, and Lance Kirklin on a staircase. The boys made their way to the hilltop beside the school and began to shoot at 5 other students. After that a teacher and student were hit by shrapnel and glass for some of the pipe bombs going off.

Severe mental health issues such as severe anxiety disorder, antisocial personality disorder, schizophrenia, or sensory perception disorder are illnesses which are common among the people responsible for the numerous mass shootings in America. Many believe the possession of firearms in the hands of the mentally ill are the real cause of mass shootings.

Mass Shootings have been pretty common in the U.S. In the past 30 years or so. According to the Congressional Research Service, there have been 78 mass shootings in the United States since 1983. The shootings have resulted in 547 deaths and 1,023 casualties. Mass shootings are only responsible for a very small percentage of deaths in the United States, but mass shootings are happening more often than ever, a mass shooting happens on average one time a month.
The United States of America, a great but very flawed nation is one of the highest-ranking countries in the world—which isn’t always a good thing. From its number one rating in areas like defense spending (almost half a trillion dollars in 2015 according to data from the National Priorities Project), to its astronomical and ever rising national debt (which increases $40,000 a second (The Telegraph))—America consistently comes out on top. Although rankings like these are upsetting to hear, the most frustrating is the fact that this country outranks every other nation in the world in guns, mass shootings, and gun violence. In 1999, Eric Harris, 18, and Dylan Klebold, 17, walked into Columbine High School with shotguns, automatic weapons, and homemade pipe bombs, and killed 13 people, as well as, wounding 20 others, before killing themselves. Close to13 years after the massacre at Columbine, on December 14, 2012, another major school shooting took place in Newtown, Connecticut at Sandy Hook Elementary School. This time, 20-year-old Adam Lanza walked into the elementary school and murdered 20 children between the ages of 5 and 10, as well as, 6 adult faculty members, before killing himself. He used a semi-automatic, AR-15 as well.
From elementary school all the way to ninth grade I was bullied on multiple occasions for not looking apart of the in crowd. I was not as skinny as everyone else, I wore purple cricked glasses, my hair was always in a bun or a braid; I had a uni-brow, and my fashion sense was immature. As the result of the way I looked during those years I was labeled as unattractive, un-dateable, and that smart weird girl. As I got older and the more I heard these things I started to see myself as unattractive. I also have a twin who was the complete opposite of me during those years.
