“In fewer than 11 minutes, twenty first-grade pupils and six adults had lost their lives” (Sanchez 1). On December 14, 2012 the lives of families across the nation changed forever. Adam Lanza, a twenty year old man suffering with multiple mental illnesses, went on a shooting rampage at the Sandy Hook Elementary School after murdering his mother just minutes before. He had no motive for his unbelievable actions, but took the lives of children who had so many more years to live and memories to make. The Sandy Hook shooting was the second most deadly shooting in the United States, as it scarred innocent people, and still has families across the nation wondering why this horrific event happened.
To begin with, the article “Las Vegas shooter booked hotel overlooking Lollapalooza, seen with mystery woman”, written by Morgan Winsor and Julia Jacobo gives an overview of the horrific events that took place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Route 91 Harvest Music festival earlier this month. During the festival, suspect Stephen Paddock, 64, had a hotel room at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino, which overlooked the festival. In his hotel room police found at least 23 guns, extreme amounts of ammunition, and hidden cameras to detect police trying to arrest him. The guns in question were used to kill at least 59 people, through broken windows in his suite, including Stephen Paddock who committed suicide. As this horrific event has just occurred not all the facts have been gathered and police have an active investigation into this event to determine his motivation to commit this heinous act.

Sometimes people have to have help searching for their identities, such as tests, etc.
June 12th, 2016 was not just a typical day in Orlando, Florida. Instead, a tragedy caused by Omar Mateen being the primary murderer of nearly 49 people and injured 53 people has occurred. The incident took place at a gay nightclub between 2:02am and ended at 5:53am when Mateen was shot dead by a SWAT team. Omar’s motives are not quite clear because he said that he is part of ISIS but no such evidence has linked him to ISIS. What is clear is that this mass shooting was considered as a domestic terrorism.
The shots that were fired were too fast to just be one person because the bolt action rifle that was supposedly used couldn’t fire that fast even professional shooters that we tested couldn't do that and the shots that were fired came out in less than 10 seconds. The text says that there was also a police killing the same day too but the two eyewitness descriptions were
This article has great viewpoints, use of argumentative reasoning, and shows what truly happens in the hallways of a school shooting. The main person he explains is Eric Harris, who killed over two-thousand students and faculty in a Colorado high school in 1998. He set off bombs all over the school and used a semi-automatic
294 days in the past year have had one specific theme in common. Each of them has been the setting for a mass shooting, on campuses or in public places that resulted in the injury or death of multiple bystanders. Through social media, the most gruesome details are often the only information to ever reach the public, causing issues such as gun-control policy and tighter security in public places to rise to the top of the list on political agendas. This has forced mass shootings to become the backdrop for constant ideological media battles. In addition, the consideration of other issues found in shootings, such as mental and social disorders, become smothered by the debate of gun control and similar measures.

I am not courting controversy but I feel compelled to note it here. What Salman Rushdie perfected, Charlie Hebdo made a sport of. Both of them were not talking of religious extremism per se, they were mocking it. The medium was not a plain discussion, but a highly evolved satire. And they expected people to understand it.
