The number one reason young adults do not consider going to college is that they believe college is too expensive and they cannot afford it (education Data, 2019). The average cost of college has more than doubled in the 21st century according to educationdatat.org. in 2022, the average cost of college was $35,551 per year, including books, supplies, and living, expenses. Most if not all American College students have a current average amount around $37,700 in student loan debt with an average loan payment of $393 per month. No wonder many young adults chose not to attend college. They provide an educated workforce with advanced skills and knowledge. Colleges themselves benefit many both for a worker and a student. More educated population in the nation. Overall, more efficient and productive society. Widened workforce will boost economy. Availability of a higher education, increases equality for all people. College graduates from all socio-economic backgrounds can climb the economic ladders to reach their dream careers. When more people get a better education, they are able to solve problems better. This Means that our society can progress at a faster rate. Additionally, people with education can better understand the history of their society and its current economic conditions. As such, they may be more inclined to participate in politics and improve their country. If college was free more people would be able to get jobs that require a more skilled workforce.
