What would you do if your parents were killed and you swore vengeance to destroy the Romans because of the murder? It is commonly agreed that Daniel did indeed take the oath and swear vengeance for his parents but, some people think he should and some people think he should not have.
Daniel should not have taken the oath for three reasons: It will affect the people around him, Leah needs Daniel’s help to survive, and Daniel’s family and friends gave him love. The first reason why Daniel should not have taken the oath is, it will affect the people around him. The first reason why Daniel should have taken the oath is the Romans are cruel. The Romans aren’t Christians and they don’t understand why Jesus died on the cross for our sins because they believe in the almighty Caesar. Therefore, they prosecuted us in arenas and on the streets and in our ancestor’s homes there in Rome. As they go and conquer other countries adding and making their nation bigger and bigger as they take young people from those countries and make them into Roman soldiers to conquer even more countries for the mighty nation of Rome. The second reason why Daniel should have taken the oath is the Romans are dangerous killers. You should never trust a Roman, they killed the innocent parents of Daniel and Leah to leave them with their grandmother who dies later in the story. Which gives Daniel a good reason to hate the Romans so much as to not want them to accept Christ and to go to Hell when they die. They killed Samson when they courageously went to save Joel from captivity of the Romans. They killed Jesus when he told them that he was the son of God. These proofs are not persuasive because as John saw in his vision, God will come down and create a new Heaven and a new Earth and destroy all evil in the world, only to banish Satan to the pit of burning sulfur.
