The gods and goddesses do more good than harm and should be kept in society. Poseidon is a prime example of a god that should be kept in this society. He helps with many things that people take for granted. The opposition believes that some Greek gods should be kicked out even though they help society in a great way. Poseidon is one of the gods that that most people would want to kick out of society, but he should be kept in this society because he is the king of the sea which has many benefits. He also controls the floods that we have and provides us with water so we won’t have droughts. This shows he is an advantage to our society. Although the opposition believes that the gods should be kicked out of the society, the gods actually do good things for humans. Such as on the article (“Poseidon: Greek God of the Sea”) ,stating that, “It is well known that Poseidon was quite temperamental. When in a good mood he would create land and keep the seas calm.” This shows that in the inside Poseidon is actually an agreeable and considerate person. Also, from the article (“Poseidon”) it says “Poseidon is the god of the sea and protector of all aquatic features.” He provides food for us by securing and protecting the fish from getting eaten in the sea. He also continues to let them get the nutrition they need to survive while they are living in the sea. Another reason Poseidon should be kept is society is from another article named (“Poseidon: Personality & Temperament”) it said “During his good mood, he would create new lands in the water of Mount Olympus. Poseidon could be cooperative too. Poseidon was cooperative and helped the Greeks win the Trojan War.” This shows that Poseidon was generous towards others.
