This essay will explore how therapeutic radiographers should maintain professional behaviour in practice. Professionalism is being a good healthcare worker who put patients first and goes their way to deliver the best patient care and respect their peers as well patients (Bhugra, 2005). It is necessary for healthcare because it provides effective, safe, a patient-centred approach that promotes a smooth working relationship with different professionals (Erin, 2017). The Society and College of Radiographers (2017) provides a wide range of professional code and conducts, including behaviours and attitude when working with a patient, their families and other professionals in the workplace. Professionalism is obtained with essential skill and values; this includes the appropriate use of language, emotional intelligence and respecting patient’s confidentiality.
