One day, one child, one gun, one school. Now, as saddening as it is to admit, we live in a world where school shootings are a part of everyday life, and there is nothing being done to stop them. As most can recognize, most of the media is more focus on what the President is going to say after the shootings happen, rather than focusing on what we as a nation are going to do to stop these tragic events. There have been a few ideas when it comes to solving this issue, and truthfully, most of these ideas will fall flat on their faces; meanwhile, arming teachers seems to be a possible solution. Arming teachers will deter shooters, secure students fears from outside threats, and in the worst case scenario can stop a school shooter before they can commit mass murder.
There is a possibility that a kid who is planning a shooting could just be in a classroom and find out were his/her teacher keeps the weapon, and they wouldn 't even have to sneak a gun in. That’s a downside but what if we made gun safes that only opened with a teachers ID or own password making it almost impossible for a student to open it. Conclusion By arming teachers there are alot more positives than negatives, Yes bad things can happen with a deadly weapon in a classroom but people will continue to do these horrific crimes knowing there is hardly anything that’s going to stop them.
Equipping teachers with guns, who are little more than civilians, is absurd. This would not help prevent the type of deadly mass shooting we 've been seeing lately. All that would do is increase the possibility of innocent people getting caught in the crossfire. To address the problem, President Trump has come out with a few ideas and suggestions that will hopefully preserve children safety at schools. Those ideas are not without their critics, pros and cons. Trump listened to a couple victims and parents of victims tell their mournful story and came out with a suggestion.
Over the past few weeks, arming teachers has been a controversial topic throughout the country. School shootings have taken the lives of many over the past few years, yet they are becoming more and more frequent. In today’s society children shouldn’t have to go to school worried if they are going to be safe that day. If teachers are armed it will add that extra bit of protection to the children. A big question is if arming teachers is even going to matter if an active shooter happens to be in that school.
If we give teachers gun the number of school shootings and the amount of young children dying will go down. The children that lost friends to school shooting or are afraid of one happening will feel safer. A child is not supposed to worry about their safety at school. Silence Walking out into my relative's living room, the hushed laughter and conversation died away as my face came into view. We would like to present the following definitions: Armed is defined by merriam-webster to be furnished with weapons Weapon is defined by merriam-webster to be something used to injure, defeat, or destroy. We believe this resolution is asking us to advocate to negate and our opponents to advocate to affirm.
Students today live their day-to-day lives in constant fear of what seems inevitable. The United States has one of the highests rates of school shootings in the world. Society has become so desensitized to these shootings that they are no longer shocked to hear about another school falling victim to it. Even when students take a stand against gun violence, the only solution offered to them is a proposition to arm teachers. However, bringing more guns into a school will only further deteriorate the situation.
