Some significant reforms in the 1900s were the homes families and strangers lived in going from slums to nicer living conditions. For example living in an apartment that is meant for 1 maybe 2 adults has 10 to 15 adults living in it with a bathroom down the hall away from the rooms for people in other apartments to use as well, or when someone gets a sickness in the apartment and everyone in the whole building gets it because everything is contaminated from the person being sick. It went from that to a little bit bigger homes with lesser people and cleaner rooms and bathrooms. “Achoo!” Fumes flowed through the air as a young man coughed. It was the year 1900, and 26% of boys ages 10-15 were already in the workforce. The United States faced many problems like this one in the early 1900’s. From sanitation, to wildlife, to labor and factories, the states were struggling.
I think that many changes occurred during the time period of 1890-1920 because of innovation/invention, education, and social darwinism. I think that innovation and inventions caused changes during this time period because, all of these new things meant that way of lives could be changed for the better. Secondly, education caused changes in society because of the way the community was now thinking. Finally, social darwinism played a role in causing the changes that took place during this time period. Inventions and Innovation played a crucial part in creating change during the 2nd industrial revolution.
The progressive reforms during the period of 1890-1915 in the areas of urban life, industrial conditions and politics were mixed successes, with some reforms working well and others not, but were overall largely successful. Industrial conditions, urban life, and politics were all big contributors in the progressive reform period. With these failures occurred in these areas too. Success wasn’t always the direction they were going. Even though most of the time problems with urban life, working conditions, and politics caused more problems than they fixed, the progressive reform was the most successful reform in the politics area due to their overriding concern for the system and the relationship they shared within themselves.

Reform movements sought to expand democratic ideals in the years 1825 to 1850. These reform movements ranged from religion to women’s rights. While some movements were a success there were failures as well such as nativism and utopias. They failed to exemplify to democratic society. The reform movements were ignited by the Second Great Awakening.
The Age of Reform was a time when people wanted change by creating reform movements. These reform movements were motivated for many reasons and impacted the society once they succeeded. Two of the most well known movements were the Women's Rights Movement and the Temperance Movement. The Women's Rights Movement was the movement for women's rights.
In the 18th century, during the years of 1825 to 1850 America was going through Reform movements. The Reform movement sought to expand democratic ideals in the United States. The Reform movement had social, economic and political changes or events in America. Out of all of these three things, the Reform movement had a lot more social changes and events than the other two. As the Reform movement was more of a social movement that aim to make gradual changes in society or at least some parts of society.
Reforms of the Mid-1800s The 1800s was a busy century for America. From the abolishment of slavery, to technology advancements such as the first sewing machine. But with the Second Great Awakening and new moral values, came new ideas for the government and overall society. The main reforms were temperance, prison, education, and Women's’ education. All of these have lead to good advancements in society, but also come with drawbacks.
During the 1800s, Activists promoted reforms in attempt to change the American society. They tried to make reforms to eliminate social problems and voice out for minorities like women and slaves. However, not all reforms had successfully united the nation, some might even cause unnecessary separation. For instance, the new wave of immigrants sparked prejudice and discrimination in the society.

The other major movement of the early 1900’s was the Child Labor Rights movement led by the National Child Labor Committee.
