Presently, Chicano Catholics still celebrate days of obligations and observance, saint worship, and partake in rituals of baptism, marriage, and death as a matter of habit based on Catholic religion. Children are still sent to catechism to learn the ways of the Catholic Church and to prepare for first Holy Communion. Catechism is defined as a summary of instructions through a series of questions and answers, prepared in book form, containing instruction on the religious doctrine of the Catholic Church. The intent of these instructions is that they be used in a class environment or other means of formal instruction. The official teaching of the Catholic beliefs includes creeds, sacraments, commandments, and prayers ("What is the Catholic catechism?").

Catholics share Jesus' vision and model their lives after Jesus' example of love. Catholics are called to care for one another and to use their gifts and talents for good and the community and the world. In The book Bless Me Ultima, By Rudolfo Anaya, We see many examples of Catholicism.
One of the more dramatic features of the period between 600 and 1450 C.E. was the growth and expansion of religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam. Religion played a significant role and provided a source of stability in early modern Europe, which was ravaged with disease, war, and other struggles. Catholicism, the dominant religion at the time, gave people not only hope, but also a way of life, determining many aspects of life including morals and social hierarchies. However, the influence of Catholicism was threatened when a religious movement known as the Reformation brought about a deep divide in religion in the sixteenth century, thus upsetting the delicate balance of life and stability for many people. The reason the Reformation started is that some people, who became disillusioned with some of the corrupt practices of the Catholic church, decided to voice their concerns. As a result, a new form of Christianity,

All the False Stereotypes about Catholicism Catholics have always been stereotyped for having “different beliefs”, but in reality their beliefs are the same as all Christians. Non-catholics have claimed “Catholics aren’t Christians”, or “Catholics want Jesus back on the cross”, but let me tell you not to believe these because they are completely false. All of these false accusations mostly started from Martin Luther’s famous, “95 Theses”. People just need to read the Bible and scriptures to be able to understand the statements they make are false. Finally, all Catholics stereotypes are false and can be proven by scripture and the Bible.

Eucharist is the practice in memorial of Jesus’ sacrifice taken by Christians that is performed by taking a piece of bread for Christ’s body and wine for his blood. Between all seven sacraments, the common thread is that they are all necessary in Catholicism to reach salvation. In addition, since the Church was the tangible remaining part of Christ, it was intended that the sacraments were performed through the Church by priests. Other sacraments such as confession and penance, the practices of admitting your sins and repenting to a priest, are prime examples of the priests’ integration in these acts. Due to this, the Church’s power over spirituality became absolute as it was made impossible to reach salvation without them.
The Roman Catholic Reformation and the Protestant Reformation started with the same end in mind, yet each church ended with something very different. There were similarities and differences in way that the problems given were handled. Each church had a different outcome because they took different steps to get there. The Protestant Reformation started right after the Renaissance because of Matin Luther.
This allows for diverse religious practices and beliefs that are specifically catered to individual followers’ spiritual needs. It is up to an individual to choose the deities to worship, having specific devotional practices, rituals, and ceremonies dedicated to them. The polytheistic nature of this religion promotes a multifaceted nature of the divine; believing that different deities can promote guidance, protection, and blessing in a follower’s life. The belief in multiple gods and goddesses shows a principal concept of Hinduism, interconnectedness. This is acknowledging that all beings, and elements are interconnected and work with a greater cosmic order.
“Protestants do not believe in a hierarchical structure,” while Catholics believe that the Pope is the head of their Church (Herbst: The Difference between Protestantism and Catholicism). Catholics also have devotion for Mary, so they pray to her; while Protestants do not pray to her. For Catholics, the most important part of Mass is the Eucharist or Holy Communion, while Protestants believe that the most significant part comes with the sermon. Catholics also believe in practices that are not explicitly stated in the Scriptures. In contrast, Protestants believe only in what is stated in the Scriptures.

Judaism and Hinduism have many things in common. Both ancient religions believe in a higher power and both began as being specific to a certain region before later expanding in the late 19th century, with Judaism originating in Egypt and Hinduism taking its roots in India. With that being said, there are also several differences between the two religions. Hindus believe that we are reborn from a previous life until we achieve “oneness”, which is the unity of all beings with the Divine. Jews, on the other hand, believe that we are created in God’s image with the capacity to either be good or evil.
