The United states changed dramaticily between 1776 and 1870. The popualtion increased rapidly . People were given constituational rights. There was no more slavery and less racial discrimination. The U.S became more of a industrial economy rather then agricultural.
Life in the 1920s and 1950s While some similarities were noticeable between the 1920s and the 1950s, the differences were striking. The 1920s was known as the beginning of modern America. The 1950s was known for its lucrative prosperity and anxiety. Both eras’ were similar in their economics. They differed in politics and society.
The social elements between 1820-1840 were greatly affected by the fight for presidency between Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams, in the election of 1828. Jackson highlighted that he had a humble beginning, a military career, and a support for democratic values (Keene, 234). Jackson’s supporters praised his dedication to democracy and criticized his opponent’s aristocratic background. The people who supported Adams, defended his idea of traditional republicanism and gave warning to supporters of Jackson that he would ultimately undermine the constitutional system of America. The events of the election of 1824 greatly colored the main disputes in this election.

The Gilded Age: Then and Now Throughout our history, it is believed our societies have undergone significant changes forming the way we live our lives today. Could this be true or are we simply set to relive history? The contemporary period shares many similarities with the gilded age. These two periods may seem like their worlds apart, but as we look closer, we can see that they there two eras that share many similarities.

Girls age 8-10 made candles, and wove clothes while girlsage 8-10 today smell candles and put clothes on toy dolls.
In America during both the time period of 1840s-1850s and 1910s-1920s, resistance to immigrants happened through social and political movements such as the KKK and nativist movements. However, immigrants were more likely to have restrictions in the 1910s-1920s. Also, during the 1910s-1920s people were more afraid that immigrants would change the democracy and bring new ideas of communism in the country. Therefore, these two time periods are more different than similar.
The North and the South emerged as two districts reasons because they had various differences. These differences included the geography, the economy, and education. This all have a roll to play when the time comes for the Civil War and the Union dividing. The first contrast between the districts is the geography and the climate between the two. It may be know that in the north is is cooler.

Voting rights changed a lot between 1776 and 1870, also during 1776 independence was declared. During 1776 only people who own land can vote. Most of whom are white males over the age of 21.
People that lived their had more experience on how to do things because that was their everyday routine. In the early 1900s they had to learn how to make do with what they had and learn how to use things they were limited to, that's how their lives worked. It affects people emotionally and physically. The air was so filled with dust that it killed people. Children had clothes made out of sacks because there was no other material available.
Some things that changed were that women had gained the right to vote, women held more jobs, and the great migration. In 1919 women got the right to vote, because of the ¾ vote from states, women felt they had more of a say in society due to men being at war. The amendment said that the right to vote shall not be denied on the account of sex. During America’s time in WW1

The first characteristics belong to the Silent Majority, which is the generation that lived in the 1920s. The other ones pertain to the Millennials, this generation consists of people born in the late 1980s all the way to 2000s.
