In recent years, China has been a rising power that has gained a lot of political power in the east, has grown into an international power that must be reckoned with. On the other hand, the United States has been arguably one of, if not the most powerful country in the world. With China growing in its political power and influence, the tension between China and the United States has begun to grow. Looking at the political culture, economy and alliancies, along with their military , these two states have a lot of similarities along with their differences. However, even in their similarities, the question remains. Why does China and the United States view each other as threats and not a reliable ally? In the aspect of political culture, they are very different. With China, there is a different political culture and they hold different values. For example, their citizens do not have freedoms or rights like the United States does. There's also an extreme limit when it comes to Media and information. On the other hand, the United States holds values that promote human rights, freedoms for their citizens and allows freedom of expression. The United States is a country that promotes democracy and has been extremely reactionary towards communist states since the Cold War Era. These fears of communism challenge the origins and values America was built on like freedoms, rights and representation in government. This conflict has influenced America at the time to create policies and develop their military in a way that prevents the spread of communism. In addition, the origin of America was based on a nation escaping Totalitarian reign. As long as China continues to fall under an authoritarian and communist reign, America will always see China as a potential threat to their freedoms and
