Mrs. Salvarez: I do believe that we hold many similarities the primary one being that we serve for the same
ONE The Japanese suffered more than the American citizens because the Japanese got sent to internment camps. Any Japanese immigrants and American citizens of Japanese heritage had to go while nothing happened to the American citizens, this response is because during World War 2 Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor led to America's mistrust of Japan so President Franklin D. Roosevelt made them internment camps so they couldn't betray the Americans. The Japanese had to stay in those camps for multiple years with limited resources and only getting paid 5 dollars a day to build themself a living like schools for their kids, churches, and more. This shows Japan and Europe 's differences. Merchants were looked up to in Europe and were looked down upon in Japan. Their social structure went the Emperor, Shogun, Diamyos, Samurai, peasants, artisans, then the merchants. Another difference was how women were seen. In Europe, women were considered fragile and in Japan they were expected to be brave and honorable.
Many groups of people started to isolate the japanese culture and islamic culture. For example, after the bombing at pearl harbor the U.S entered the war that was soon called world war 2. Though the comparison between two countries has a weakness in the way it can be mistaken for connection. Comparison is more of the differences and similarities between two countries, as opposed to the impact that the countries have on each other. The Japanese incorporation of the West is very different from the Chinese who believed they were self-sufficient and did not need European aid.
Most Japanese ancestry was educated in Japan. “ Some American citizens have had all or most of their education in Japan” (50). Most Japanese people was not educated in Japan because they are not fully americanized. The education was iterrupted because of the sysytem

The cultural differences between the Japanese and those that already lived in the U.S led to discrimination between the two bodies of people. This led to many of the Japanese immigrants creating separate communities due to a fear of discrimination. Not only were there cultural tensions, there were also political tensions between the two groups. Due to the mass influx of immigrants from Japan, the U.S and Japanese
They primarily speak Japanese while in America we primarily speak English. Japanese American people had many struggles while going to America. They would get discriminated against at restaurants and not allowed to go, order certain foods, and sit in certain places. They also were put in interment camps since they werent trusted and thought to be spies and did it for “Their safety” around the time Pearl Harbor got bombed.
(Carrol) Japan was very traditional during the Tokugawa Shogunate; there were a number of changes under the shogun rule in Japan which were very similar to those seen in the industrial revolution in England. The shogun also tried to close japan to western influence, by prohibiting things such as Christianity
