Jazz and Blues As you may have heard there’s a new kind of music coming to the forefront, and that new music is call JAZZ! Jazz is characterized by it’s bouncy, syncopated rhythms, complex chords structures and improvised melodies. Jazz can be played with big bands or just on a single piano. A jazz bands may have up to 12 musicians who may be playing; saxophones, trumpets, trombones, clarinets, tubas, pianos, guitars, double basses, banjos, ukuleles, mandolins, harmonicas, violins, jews harps, and of course drums. These jazz bands started to get popular in the big cities across America. Each city developed its own individual style of of playing and jazz started to become a very diverse genre.
