Macbeth and the Tempest shows us that to much power is dangerous. Do you agree? Too much power in both Macbeth and The tempest can be dangerous to an extent as this can result in having to rulers having much control which can then lead to consequences. However having an equal and even amount of power results in fairness, peace and equality. Firstly when rulers abuse their power and have to much control that they overrule all those who have less power and control as well as those who are completely powerless. Secondly when the rulers in these two stories abuse their power and don't look out for the bad things that may come due to the actions, they may suffer major consequences. Before King Alonso was murdered by Macbeth there was no need for Macbeth to try too climb up the hierarchy because he had just the right amount of control and power. King Duncan was fine with the amount of power he had he would be 'led into the castle" and would not be worried about others trying to take his throne, yet once Macbeth was king and there was an uneven amount of power, Macbeth felt the need to protect his spot as king. Towards the end of The Tempest, Prospero " threw his books of magic into the sea" This then resulted in having even power which then cause Caliban to be left alone on the island so he was not overruled by those who tried to control him. Shakespeare argues that Macbeth and The Tempest demonstrates that having to much control of power can result in dangerous consequences , however fairness and equality is more likely when there is an equal amount of power. This clearly shows that power can be interpreted may different ways.
