Hi Freylen, as you discussed the Consensus Model allow APRNs to practice to the full scope of their education, able to move to different states, providing quality care. My new role as a primary care NP I agree with the continuity of care and follow patients into acute or long-term care facility to help them through their ongoing health issues and managing their chronic diseases(Stanley,2012).
Jessica, I agree with you 100%. The differences and variation in the ANP scope of practice among the nation, does not allow for others especially legislators, to have a clear view of the ANP nurse and what it can be accomplish it all the restrictions and barriers were eliminated. It will also change the public perception and attitudes towards nurse practitioners. I firmly believe that NPs have not only the power, but the ability to improve and make sustaintials changes to our health care system, Excellent
Advanced practice nurses (APN) have a vital role in the future of health care, especially since the enactment of the Affordable Health Care Act. With more citizens having health insurance coverage they will be seeking health care providers, and there are not enough physicians to care for them all. According to Letiziam (2014), advance practice nurses are licensed autonomous health care providers that have been trained to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients and their conditions. Advanced practice nursing is an umbrella that covers four separate roles of nurses, this includes: the certified nurse midwife (CNM), certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), certified nurse practitioner (CNP), and certified nurse specialist (CNS).
Introduction There are many important positions that play vital roles in the general healthcare model. Two of these important positions that make up the team are the Physician Assistant and the Nurse Practitioner. Although their roles are very similar, the way in which each achieves their position in the healthcare field is very different. The Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner have differing education and specialty paths.
With the ongoing healthcare demands and shortages, the appropriate role and responsibilities of the advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) will continue to be a controversial debate. There were many points addressed in your post that I agree and don’t agree with. It is most certainly not arguable that physicians do endure a longer, more intense education. I personally believe their role as a hospitalist is valuable and should never be discredited for their knowledge and expertise. However, I also believe that they are doing their patients a disservice if they are being overworked due to provider shortages.
The primary value of the PA role is to respect the health, well-being, safety, and dignity of all their patients. To ensure that misconduct does not occur, PAs should always be professionally and ethically committed to providing care for each patient. By being sensitive to the beliefs and expectations of the patient, they should be able to recognize that each patient is unique and their type of care will vary. They are treating human beings, not a disease or
Toni Morrison's Sula narrates the divergent mindsets of two childhood friends, Sula Peace and Nel Wright, as they grapple with social norms, relationships, and their impact on one another. Sula and Nel possess conflicting personalities that largely shape their upbringing and the social constructs within which they operate. The characters' interactions with their parental figures highlight the intricate ways in which interpersonal relationships shape individual outlooks and perceptions of society’s expectations. The tumultuousness of Sula's childhood is reflective of the lack of structure and predictability that epitomizes her upbringing.
Some strengths & limitations of PA practice as it relates to the PA-MD team includes playing an integral role in obtaining a comprehensive history, performing physical exams, and having a huge responsibility over diagnosis and treatment without needing a physician to be constantly with a PA. However, a major limitation included that PAs are required to have a supervising physician and PAs are not reimbursed for services directly. 2. Define the team approach to health care and describe the professional relationship between PAs and nurses.
According to Garment (2013), “However, decades of studies have demonstrated that, when permitted to practice to the full extent of their training, NPs and Pas can perform a majority of the tasks that physicians do while providing the same quality of care” (p. 2). In addition to providing the same standard of care for less money, there is a reduced salary expense when going from a base physician salary to a mid-level

Business/Finance Family Nurse Practitioners play a significant role in delivering cost effective health care to the community by emphasizing more on healthy life styles, preventive health care and provide better primary care compared to physicians by listening to the patients and spending more time with
My knowledge in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) continues to expand as I progress through the DNP program. The knowledge I have attained while in the study of the DNP I and DNP II is priceless. For example, recognizing stakeholders and utilizing networking has helped me to progress on my DNP project (Gokenbach, 2012). I also have a better understanding as well as the purpose of a DNP project. My mentors have been great in directing me in remaining on the right track.
While the main focus of APNs is clinical practice and direct patient care,
As a family nurse practitioner, one would work in a hospital with conventional doctor’s office setting. What are your current or past experiences collaborating with nurse practitioners? My experience working with a nurse practitioner was when I worked in a hospital and the nurse practitioner was the hospitalist on the night shift This nurse practitioner did an excellent job of acting as a team leader and delivering holistic care the patients. They were always rounding on the floors and would often come by and just visit to get to know the staff and educate whenever he had any time. He would often visit with the patients to discuss sensitive things such as code status in the middle of the night to make sure what was on record was what the patient wanted.
