Love Stories Always Have Conflict

Why is communication lost between two people? Both Romeo and Juliet and Othello represent love can turn quickly into death without communication. Both Romeo and Juliet come across lovesickness, their judgment impairs them for that reason. While Othello comes across false information, he brings death upon an innocent woman. William Shakespeare communicates within these two plays that revenge is in everybody, it’s their choice whether to be merciful or not.
Revenge always has an affect on the guilty and the innocent. In Othello the loss of communication resulted death of the one he loves who is innocent . For example Othello makes assumptions based on false information “Yes, presently: / Therefore confess thee freely of thy sin; / For to deny each article with oath / Cannot remove nor choke the strong conception / That I do groan withal. Thou art to die.”(5.2). Desdemona only finds about the plot of her death when Othello speaks of it before her time, Othello wants Desdemona to tell of the sin she commited, and Othello decides to commit murder regardless of what Desdemona has said. In Othello, Iago is stuck in his plan of vengeance he forgets about how his actions will affect others. For example “Lay thy finger thus, and let thy soul be instructed. / Mark me with what violence she first loved the Moor, / but for bragging and telling her fantastical lies: / and will she love him still for prating? let not / thy discreet heart think it. Her eye must be fed; / and what delight shall she have to look on the devil?”(2.1).
