The second major event that happens is in Act 4 Scene 1 where Juliet meets with Paris who planning their marriage. It is at this point where desperation sets for Juliet because she realizes that she is on the verge of marrying Paris. In order to stop the wedding she claims she will commit suicide but Friar instead tells her to take a potion that will make her look dead so the wedding will not happen. And then the message will be passed to Romeo to meet his “dead” wife in the family crypt. This scene is significant to the story because it sets up the castropy which is going to happen at the end of the story.
In act 1 scene 5 a hall in Capulet's house, I acted as Romeo. In my opinion, my acting company had a great overall performance. The day before our performance, we had a dressed rehearsal and we were told that we needed to fix our blocking and visual delivery and overnight our group got together and worked together. Playing Romeo, I had to play as a young man falling in love with a girl at first sight, for the first time seeing Juliet, Romeo was amazed at how beautiful this young girl was. At the beginning of the scene Romeo spoke to himself about what he thought of Juliet.

These stories are both very archetypical, as many parts are similar, and you can predict what is going to happen before it does.

There are many parallels that are apparent in Romeo and Juliet and West Side story. For instance, the way that both plays open is very similar. In Romeo and Juliet, the play opens up with a confrontation between servants of the Montagues and Capulets which develops into physical fighting until Prince Escalus intervenes and threatens to kill any of them if they disturb the peace again. This is similar in the opening scene of West Side Story when the Jets, acting as the Montegues, and the Sharks, acting as the Capulets in Romeo and Juliet, when a confrontation between them turns into a fight which Lieutenant Schrank intervenes and breaks the fight up and threatens to apprehend any of them that disturbs the peace of the neighborhood. Another similarity between the two plays is the recreation of the famous balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet where Romeo appears in front of Juliet’s balcony after the Capulet feast where they exchange their vows.
