In Act 1 Scene 5, when Romeo & Juliet meet it helps the characters develop into something much more complex within their emotions and boundaries and also helps further develop the plot. In Lheurmann’s film, the camera movement was fast paced making the love in that scene much more hard to convey unlike Zeffirelli’s film. Lheurmann’s film was very swift in the way the camera was moving, consequently making it hard to convey the theme. He uses fast cuts, while they gaze at each other through the fish tank, to focus attention and give emphasis to their facial expressions when they see each other for the first time.
