Good morning to the board of Universal Studios, my purpose of this speech is to talk about the never seen before appropriation of the fight scene in Act 3 Scene 1 from Shakespeare's version of Romeo and Juliet , and also to persuade why my appropriation is suitable to the modern audience. Each character of Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet has been taken and recreated to suit the context of my appropriation .In Shakespeare's version of Romeo and Juliet Act 3 Scene 1 , Tybalt want to fight Romeo but Romeo refuses out of love for Juliet. Mercutio fights in Romeo place and was killed. Realising his cowardice Romeo fight Tybalt and kills him.

The large deserted area was fill with the post-war's destruction which caused many injuries and death to civilisation. Every little sound, a pebble scraping underneath my shoe, the wind pressing against the panes of the darkened windows was amplified by the deafening silence. The building's windows looked like hollow sockets, empty and black, the life that once thrived within them, long gone and abandoned. The scenes open up with Benvolio meeting Mercutio and Tybalt suddenly comes to have a brawl asking for Romeo , but Mercutio get caught up in the conflict and dies by a gun shot. Romeo comes in running to the body of Mercutio and fights Tybalt. Romeo dodges bullets and fires a shot which hits Tybalt in the head and dies. Romeo love for Juliet is too strong. The scene begins with an open argument and fighting.

Those changes are relevant to the new context as the props swords are replaced with guns. During the brawl , tension ,anger and hatred between each other is demonstrated. Pathetic fallacy highlights the tragedy which is to follow Mercutio's death. The clouds turn a dark thunderous colour, symbolising danger and a dramatic change in the mood. Fast camera movement between Mercutio and Tybalt communicate the ambiguity of their feelings. During the fight, Tybalt spits on Romeo , making evident the hatred and disrespect he has towards
