Luhrmann’s version of Romeo and Juliet shows the intense feud between the two groups the Capulets and the Montagues and he differentiates the two groups by the use of colors, how they're dressed, and the way they act throughout the fight. Luhrmann’s interpretation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is the best because it shows the intensity of the fight and expresses the appearance of the Montagues and Capulets better than the other movies. Well, there is a particular character, Lord Capulet, who prevents this from happening. Juliets father Lord Capulet has a major impact on the story of Romeo and Juliet, his drastic mood swings that take place throughout the play affected the play so direly that if they were not as severe that it drove huis one and only daughter to pursue the only son of her family's enemy and drive his daughter Juliet to suicide. Lord Capulet causes his daughter to chase after Romeo, the enemy of his family, by throwing a house party priority for his daughter to find love, that is when Count Paris walks up to him to speak about himself marrying Lord Capulet, Daughter Lady Juliet.
There are many conflicts in Romeo and Juliet and changing some scenes can offer more clarity to audience that have not read the play. However, it can, sometimes drastically, change a person’s view on a certain character. Mercutio and Tybalt’s fight is one of the most important scenes in the story and an example of this type of change. In the play, Romeo does not get involved in the fight until Mercutio is dying and Tybalt returns to fight Romeo. In the movie, Romeo gets in the middle of the fight to stop Mercutio, leading to Tybalt picking up a shard of glass and stabbing Mercutio.
Good morning to the board of Universal Studios, my purpose of this speech is to talk about the never seen before appropriation of the fight scene in Act 3 Scene 1 from Shakespeare's version of Romeo and Juliet , and also to persuade why my appropriation is suitable to the modern audience. Each character of Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet has been taken and recreated to suit the context of my appropriation .In Shakespeare's version of Romeo and Juliet Act 3 Scene 1 , Tybalt want to fight Romeo but Romeo refuses out of love for Juliet. Mercutio fights in Romeo place and was killed. Realising his cowardice Romeo fight Tybalt and kills him.
In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Romeo cannot control his emotions which leads to Romeo moving on from Rosaline and on to Juliet too fast. He says he loves Rosaline and when she denies him of his love, Romeo goes into an emotional breakdown; but when he meets Juliet he forgets all about Rosaline and is instantly in love with Juliet. When Mercurio and Romeo are talking about Romeo’s recent heartbreak, Romeo claims “[he] has lost [himself]” (Shakespeare 1.1 ll. 205) and that, “[he] was not [there]” (1.1 ll. 205). He is saying that he did not feel like himself at that time because he was depressed from Rosaline turning him down. His emotions were messing with him as he went through a harsh heartbreak with Rosaline.
In the 1967 and 1996 films of Romeo and Juliet, the directors portray Tybalt in different ways than done in the book Romeo and Juliet by Shakespeare. In the newer film, Tybalt's intent was to harm the Montague but in the older film he was jousting to prove the superiority and skill of the Capulets. The way the directors shape Tybalt's disposition before and during the fight is what sets the mood for the rest of the scene.
Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, the emotions of many characters are demonstrated to be great motivators and driving forces for carrying out monumental actions. In Act 3 scene 1, Romeo’s actions are seen to be greatly impacted by the strong emotions that he feels at this time, as displayed when Mercutio is slain by Tybalt and Romeo reacts furiously. As Romeo declares to Benvolio, “Alive in triumph—and Mercutio slain!/Away to heaven, respective lenity,/And fire-eyed fury be my conduct now./Now, Tybalt take the “villain” back again”(III.i.118-121). Romeo questions how the scum Tybalt can be alive while the honorable Mercutio is dead, thus igniting his emotion-driven actions. Romeo, after being the cause of his friend's death, exclaims that he will no longer act with consideration towards Tybalt for the fact that they are related through Romeo’s marriage to Juliet.
Right away in the play there is a fight between the families that started from pretty much nothing but blew up into a fight. That fight had the consequence of the prince threatening to sentence whoever started the fight to death. That threat only stayed in the families’ minds for a short time. Mercutio and Tybalt had an argument that grew from a verbal fight to a full blown sword fight when Mercutio said, “Come, sir, your passado. ”(III.i.82) Romeo made an attempt to stop this fight, but failed when Tybalt reached under Romeo’s arm and mortally wounded Mercutio.

Tybalt fights with Mercutio instead of Romeo. Romeo tries to stop the fighting but Tybalt stabs hims under his arm. A text example of this is “ Romeo. I do protest I never injured thee but love thee better than thou canst devise till thou shalt know the reason of my love; and so, good Capulet, which name I tender as dearly as my own, be satisfied” ( Shakespeare 1 3.1). The quote is of Romeo basically saying we can’t fight and I'm in love with your cousin but Tybalt is confused and mad and that leads Romeo to kill Mercutio.
In William Shakespeare tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, Romeo's depressed tone sets a tense mood of the parallel plot in order to show foreshadowing. This will contribute to the major plot because Romeo was rejected by his love and was heart broken. For instance, when Benvolio was giving Romeo advice on how he should leave Rosaline and move on. Romeo indicated "Ay, mine own fortune in my misery." To paraphrase Romeo did not want the advice from Benvolio because he felt like he did not understand his depress feelings on loving.
The play Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is set in a city called Verona. It starts with Sampson and Gregory, the two servants from the house of Capulet joking “war of words” on a street of Verona. As they talk, Abraham and Balthasar, two servants from house Montague come in. Sampson bites his thumb as an insult to them and the fight starts. Benvolio and Tybalt appear and join the fight.
“Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare entertains the audience through use of character, language and drama. The plot focuses on the theme of conflict and consequences, using deep characterisation, descriptive language and high drama to entertain. Act 3 Scene 1 focuses on a brutal feud between two enemies and Act 3 Scene 5 follows the patriarchal society’s approach to women marriage and societal expectations. Shakespeare forces the audience to engage with the idea of conflict and what it must have been like to live through this time. Shakespeare cleverly utilises a changing atmosphere in Act 3 Scene 1 to expertly entertain his audience.

In life, people want to have that someone they can call the “sun to the their moon,” or the “night to their day,” wishing for an undying love. William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet deals with the recurring visual motif of light and dark, that is used to represent and foreshadow their love. Both of the lovers compare one another to the day and night, which highlights the intensity of their relationship, but also expresses the downfalls and unforeseen complications to come. For Romeo, Juliet is his sun. His light.
