In the different time period of America, the right of human always be the problem for the society. Different people in the different class use the different way to fight for their own rights. Through House On Mango Street argues that if the woman wants to be independence, she must to change their life that does not similar with another woman. The main character in the novel is Esperanza. Esperanza made a conclusion by observing the life of his family and the life of the neighbors. Only do not live like another woman in order to make themselves free. In the process, she got through the differences between the races, began to understand their own pursuit of the goal. Because both of characters in the novel and movie, they are special people. They do not have their own right. In the chapter four on House On Mango Street, “My great-grandmother. I would've liked to have known her, a wild horse of a woman, so wild she wouldn't marry. Until my great-grandfather threw a sack over her head and carried her off. Just that, as if she were a fancy chandelier. That's the way he did it. And the story goes she never forgave him. She looked out the window her whole life, the way so many women sit their sadness on an elbow. I wonder if she made the best with what she got or was she dory because she couldn`t be all the things she wanted to be.” (P10, SANDRA CISNEROS) Form this short story, we can know that in Esperanza’s family, woman does not have their own rights and the woman only can stay in the home to do what the woman need to do. They can not do something that they like. The only thing that the woman can do is taking care of the family. So those women are discriminated by the man. In the movie Forrest Gump, there is a part about Along with Forrest Gump grow up, he need use the auxiliary equipment to help him work, but the normal child always laughs at him. Because Forrest Gump was special. And most of children always bully him, because they think Forrest Gump was the special person. In the movie Forrest Gump, I remember there is an inspirational part about Forrest Gump’s efforts. Forrest Gump used auxiliary equipment to work. When another child laughs at Forrest Gump again, and they also wanted to heart Forrest Gump. Forrest Gump’s best friends Jenny let him to run. At first, Forrest Gump could not run very well, but he ran faster and faster without the auxiliary equipment. And then the running become to his hobby. When he inadvertently ran to the playground, the coach form the university found his talent. Coach unconventional admits to Forrest Gump to go to university with the normal students, so he became an American football player, and he was the best in the university. Getting through this inspirational part, we totally understand that although Forrest Gump have the lower IQ, but he can use another way to get into the university, and become the best American football player. So his life is changed. Another people do not think Forrest Gump is the special person any more. Because he is really good at American football and he can do the best than another American football
