The Great Depression was the longest-lasting economic plunge in history of the Western Industrialized world. It began right after the stock market crash of October 1920, sending panic everywhere and taking out millions of investors. In To Kill a Mockingbird (TKAM) by Harper Lee, Lee does a pretty good job portraying how families were affected by the Great Depression in comparison to the articles “Growing Up During the Depression” by Ambrose Light and “Lessons From the Great Depression” by Delores Meyers.
