If you are to say that the United States and Texas Constitution are the same, then you would be extremely mistaken. The Australian and American Constitution : A Comparison Both the United States and Australia were colonized by the British Empire. British colonization in America began in 1607 in Jamestown. However, after the American War of Independence in 1783 , Great Britain had to find a new place to colonize. There was a great desire for a convict settlement because of overcrowding in British prisons, so in 1788 colonization began in Australia. When settlers arrived at the Sydney Cove, they completely disregarded the aboriginals and declared it a "no man's land".

Things are bigger in Texas, but not only are things bigger, they 're a lot different as well. How are they different? What puts us apart from being like every other country in our nation? Our government for one, we are the only state that survived on it 's own. We were our own republic, Republic of Texas, to be correct.
This type of government has remained up to this day. The reason why some Australians say that we should become a republic is because they believe that we have become independent as a country and that we deserve to own our own name, instead of being another part of Britain. Some say we should delay becoming a republic until the Queen dies or retires, or the global financial crisis is over, or until all the other important issues facing Australia have been dealt with. As we all know, tomorrow never comes.
These two governments are similar because in an monarchy one person makes all the decisions and enforces them, just like the president. Also the monarch and the president are the focal point in the government. The form of democracy in our government can be related to the house of representatives. A democracy is a government ruled by the people. The house of
America is a Republic (Representative Democracy), not a Democracy in the full sense of the word. Our nation is a system of government that gives citizens a chance to elect the top Government officials. Citizens elect Government officials, however they cannot vote on legislation. Through Electoral College 538 electors can cast votes to vote for who they want the president and vice president of the United States to be. Including, in order to give one political party an electoral majority in a large number of districts.
Throughout history there have been links between the Iroquois constitution leading to the basis for the American Constitution. A constitution’s role is to help their country and benefit the people so things stay balanced and never lose control. As proof continues to build up, it shows that like the Iroquois the constitution holds several similar qualities on how to handle the economy and people. It has been thought, that the Iroquois have put the lining for the American guidelines. Though there are things that show to be the same, there are subtle differences that slip and show through.
The federal system also gives countries the legislative, judicial and executive jurisdiction to both governments. An example of a country that has a federal system would be Canada and the United States under the constitution. The unitary system has their authority in charge with the central government. The national government is very depended on and is cautiously decreasing in power. An example of a country that uses the unitary system is the United Kingdom.
In the United States our government is broken up into many different parts. The biggest is of course the national government. The national government is comprised of the Executive branch, Legislative branch, and Judicial branch. These three compartments of government work together to approve the laws, make the laws, and enforce the law. After that power is trickled down to the state and local government.
Additionally, the Russian government runs on a federation while the United States operates on a Constitution-based federal republic; having a strong democratic tradition. About the Legal System, Russia mainly uses the civil law system which in other words is the judicial review of legislature acts, and the U.S. government uses the Common Law System which is based on the English Common Law from the federal level; using state legal systems based on Common Law except for Louisiana. Lastly, relating to the basis of executive legitimacy, Russia’s presidency is independent of legislature meaning the ministry focused on the parliamentary confidence, while the U.S. presidency is independent of primarily the
The levels consist of local councils, state and federal parliaments where each level conducts elections, creates laws for citizens, is responsible for providing public goods and services and punishes those who abuse these laws (Victorian Government, Unknown). The national/federal Parliament has the power to enact law and govern Australia and is divided into three arms of government; legislature, executive and judiciary. The House of Representatives encompasses 150 members, each representing a different electorate and the Senate in composed of 76 members where each state has 12 senators and the territories have 2 senators each.
I agree that the Native American system of self-governance definitely influenced American democracy. Many legislative systems in the United States such as the representative democracy and the process of lawmaking are very similar to governmental traditions of the Iroquois Confederation. Ancient Athenian democracy, a form of European democracy often compared to its American counterpart, required every man to vote in order for his opinion to be considered. Although such a method may have worked for a city-state like Athens, it would not be as efficient for the United States. Instead, the U.S. is a representative democracy, much like the Iroquois Confederation.
The Australian Government divides their powers into different sectors between the legislative, executive and the judiciary to prevent misuse of powers. Each section plays an important role in keeping the entire system fair while running smoothly. Australia allows for more than one party to be in elections, with the second highest voted party stand as the opposition, to give input in the running of Australia instead of one party having absolute power. This allows more ideas to be heard and contribute positively to the decision making of
Not only is there a federal government, but there are also state and local governments. Furthermore, there are forms of government that function on a higher basis than local governments, but on a lower basis than state governments. Although the federal government has overall control on how the country functions, the other forms of government have a considerable impact on the laws of each area. All states have varying laws that lie along the same lines. For instance, the age to get a Driver’s license is not the same from state to state, but they are around the same age.
