WWI and the Nuclear Tensions between the United States and North Korea Throughout history, human beings have fought for survival through many deadly and everlasting wars such as the Civil War, World War 1, and World War 2. Throughout this time period, technology has advanced to deadly lengths, and war has become less involved with humans directly, and more with humans indirectly. Traditional war involved two parties fighting to the death with one side rising to the victory. Armies of soldiers would go head to head ready to give up their life at any second. This is a concept and phenomenon that is too prevalent today in the 21st century, one that the human race is very vigilant about. This issue is particularly perceived through the nuclear tensions that have been rising between the United States and North Korea. The North Korean leader Kim Jong- Un has aggravated the relationship between the United States President and his country with the nuclear missile tests and verbal nuclear threats. There are fears of escalation between the two powers through their hostile manners and actions, which might amount to something similar to WWI. The behaviors and actions of Kim Jong- Un have been compared to another stringent leader from history preceding WWI, Kaiser Wilhelm. It has been observed that there is a Napoleon complex to both leaders which also has caused exacerbation to the situation. One good example of such a war is the WWI, one of the most deadly and catastrophic wars which when looked at and analyzed, could have been less severe if not prevented. A thorough analysis above provided evidence of how this World War is similar to a situation that is occurring today. This situation is the tension between North Korea and the United States. This is a relationship which is tenuous and which the world is cautiously watching as to see what will happen. North Korea and the United States hasn’t always had the best relationship, and it only has continued to deter.
