“A hero is a man who does what he can.” Romain Rolland. Heroes are not always like the superheroes that are in the movies like Superman, they are normal people. All they do that makes them special is they do something that is absolutely breathtaking. Heroes are people who are always willing to help anyone in need, no matter the danger, also they are brave, and finally they dont do it for the spotlight.
Heroes always want to help no matter what stands in their way. For example, during the time of slavery in America there was this woman named Harriet Tubman. She escaped and instead of living a happy, normal life she started a system called the underground railroad that helped free slaves. She was conductor along with others, she even said “I was the conductor of the Underground Railroad for 8 years, and I can say what most conductors can't say; I never ran my train off the track and I never lost a passenger.” This is amazing how she, never losing a passenger is very hard …show more content…

For example in the civil war Abraham Lincoln was the biggest reason why America is still one whole country. All he wanted to do is preserve the union no matter what it takes. This is shown when he says “When I do good I feel good,when I do bad I feel bad,that is my religion.” He shows here that he is trying to do good to feel good and not be known as the best president ever. Also there is the soldier who lost his leg. His name is Lake Stevens and he shows no matter what obstacle you face, it cannot change who you are. He says “I just keep telling the doctors that I don’t want my life to be different than it was before. Of course, the loss of a leg changed me. But it doesn’t define me or the rest of my life.” You can see he is not doing it for fame, he just wants to live a normal life but little did he know it had life changing effect to those who have injuries like
