OUTSIDERS? Outsiders? What are outsiders? Do you think you’re an outsider? If you ask me an outsider or outsiders are people who don’t belong .What
Have you ever felt alone or isolated from the world? Well from being in middle school, I’ve learned that some people feel as if the world revolved around them. They do things they never would’ve done. Yet, they still do it just to try to fit in the crowd. From many experiences, I have learned that it’s ok to not be with the crowd since the crowd isn’t always the best option.
Feeling left out was never a comfortable feeling, especially teens who experience loneliness at school on a daily basis, but it doesn’t have to take place just at school, it happens everywhere. Isolation from society may occur through social classes and people start viewing others differently based on their social class. For example, “Isolation is the worst possible counselor” by Miguel de Unamuno, a Spanish philosopher, shows how isolation is a serious problem among society and is also the worst thing that could happen to anyone that is lonely. What is more concerning to the people is whether social classes impacts health negatively and what might it cause in the long run. In addition, studies how shown that people who have low status in their
I understand the outsiders, but I also understand the insiders. The outsiders act with their heart and be themselves. Even though, sometimes they have to act out the way other will like. But it is different to the insiders, insiders act the way they are, they know their friend. They know how to act and make friend still be a friend.
Outsiders, Outcasts, Outlanders, all of these people have been expelled from society. Are outsiders simply those who are misjudged or misunderstood? Everyone today has an opinion about everything and everyone, judging them and not truly understanding who they really are, as a person. Outsiders in today's day and age tend to be misjudged more than misunderstood. Outsiders are misjudged rather than misunderstood, one place where you can find a prime example of this is in Joyce Carol Oates’s short story, “Where is Here?”.
There are many girls that are like Claire. Shy, timid, but sweet. You can still be popular no matter what you wear and how you look. “Popular” is just the way you feel when everyone wants to be you. When you have a special group of friends that always save a seat for you, never leave you out, and don’t go anywhere without you.
It’s Not Universal Humans are social beings and, typically, we prefer to surround ourselves with similar types of people. Often times, this means excluding others and even outcasting them from society. Nearly everybody has experienced being an outsider. whether it was not knowing anyone at a new school to not having the “must have” item that everyone else seemingly had. The experience of being an outsider is not universal because the feelings associated with being outcast are circumstantial, people react differently, and people have varying degrees of introversion.
In a perfect society that would be true. However, there is a lot of pressure to fit in and have a numerous amount of friends. In order to do this, sometimes people change the way the dress, talk, and act to match the tacit codes of their friends. I believe that uniqueness is a great quality but that is not to say that people aren 't willing to give up this quality of being unique in order to gain popularity. For example, in the movie “Mean Girls” when Katy is first introduced to the popular girls at the school she is told that on Wednesday she must wear pink in order to sit at their table.
Yet when they are judged by people it is because of the observations those people have had which lead them to judge someone in a certain way. Outsiders are simply misunderstood. It is impossible for outsiders to be misjudged because they are clearly judged by people already who just don’t understand them. Most if not all people have felt some sort of exclusion at some point in their lives. These experiences can either lead us to be more of an extrovert or more of an introvert.
An outsider is a person who does not belong in a certain party or a group. An outsider is left out from parties, groups, and even sometimes they are not allowed near a place or person. Outsiders are not cool and people do not like them or are not drawn to them. Synonyms such as the odd one out, stranger, and refugee say it all. All of these words are example of what outsiders feel like or what outsiders are.
Being an outsider is a common feeling among people of all ages. Anything can make someone feel like an outsider, whether it is their age, gender, sexuality, or race. In Premila and Santha's case from
This is true even if people are outsiders for varying reasons, like Kevin and the old man in Home Alone, as well as in Harry Potter. Sometimes, though, this isolation is a very strong negative that can end up hurting people beyond reparation, as is the case for Kafka’s The Metamorphosis. Feeling isolated from the group is a feeling that most people will go through during their lifetime. It can lead to strong connections between people, as was the case with my friend Bronwyn and I. Even though I had an interest in video games and she was an avid movie watcher (when we weren’t reading), we were still able to connect on our feelings and become fast friends.
We all need to belong somewhere. Everyone needs people to be there for them. We need to adore our lives with others, rather it is our family, friends, coworkers, or just society alone. There are a lot of traits that makes everyone unique in their own way with some of these traits people can make you seem like you’re an outsider but it’s false.
