Sir Gawain and The Green Knight The story “Sir Gawain and the Green knight” is about a mysterious figure that goes by the Green Knight who proposes a “game” to King Arthur and his court. This “game” that the Green Knight Proposes is that he will endure being beheaded with an axe by one knight’s hands. Only if that one knight will meet him in one year and one day to receive being beheaded himself. King Arthur and his court were extremely dumbfounded by his eerie proposal. The Green Knight see’s that no one is responding to his request, so he then calls out King Arthur himself to take up his offer. King Arthur doesn’t have enough time to answer because his nephew, Sir Gawain, proclaims that this “game” is despicable for a king to participate in and is such an immature “game”. In this case Sir Gawain Volunteers himself for this immature game. Sir Gawain grabs the axe and beheads the Green Knight. As Sir Gawain is traveling he passes through enchanted areas, fights monsters, and he survives extraordinary temperatures. As Christmas nears, Sir Gawain happily finds a giant castle in the middle of an enchanted forest. Sir Gawain goes up to the castle and is welcomed warmly. The lord and his wife offer invite Sir Gawain to stay at the castle for the holidays. sir Gawain ends up staying. After a christmas treat, Sir Gawain starts to leave the huge castle. As he is trying to leave the lord tries to sway Sir Gawain him into not leaving by telling him that he could kid Sir Gawain to the green chapel. While Gawain is thinking about this proposal, the lord offers a game. The game went like this, Sir gawain sits by the fire all day and the lord goes and hunts and at the end of the day they both will trade what they have
