Sir Issac Newton- Mathematician, Philosopher, physicist. Sir Issac Newton is one of the most famous scientists of all time. He had a great understanding in math and reasoning which helped his scientific theories. His work in all three fields of study has helped shape humanity for the better. He was born in England in 1643 during a super religious time but also at the start of the scientific revolution. This was a time period in which scientists had to watch what they said because the church had such an influence. Sir Issac was born to a farming household but three months before his birth his father had passed away. His mother left him with his grandma and pretty much abandoned him. Oh and he was also born premature. This left a mark on the …show more content…

By 1669(2 years after going back to college after the plague) he got his master of arts degree. Newton began work as a professor. His initial topic was that of Optics. The reason being that he had started work on a reflecting telescope which was one of his major accomplishments. He used that to explain color which is just the way we get light in different wavelengths. Not everyone in the royal society agreed with newtons ideas. Some of them were also famous scientists like Robert Hooke. During this period newton had to explain himself extensively. Not just to members of the royal society but also learners and college students who became curious. This once again was something very new to people and most of them didn't understand the principals of wavelengths. Robert Hooke and Newton went back and forth for years both adding different contributions to the world of science. Hooke proposed the first ideas to planetary motion which Newton got a hold of and put forward. The problem with Hooke's idea was that it made sense when he talked about it he just didn't have the math to back it up. Another scientist approached newton on the idea and asked him to work it out mathematically. Newton had already did. Actually 18 years before this event when his college was shut down because of the plague. Newton worked for 18 more months and after that his book was published. It is a very influential book in the science community and …show more content…

He didn't keep his job as professor and instead started getting international fame. He also represented his college in parliament. Reason he was elected to do that was because he helped lead a resistance to the catholic overseeing of his university. While all this was going on the new generation of science research that he was apart of was in a little war against the older generation of scientific study. The new generation loved having newton around and in a way looked up to him. So they ended up using him as some sort of leader if that makes sense. In 1696 Newton got the government position he wanted which was the warden of the mint. I believe that has something to do with old economics and they still have mints around today. He moved to London and stayed with his niece. In his mint job he made sure counterfeit people were punished the way they were supposed to be and made the English currency a part of the gold standard. His accomplishments are ridiculous. Like seriously, this man did a lot before he graduated high school. Studied while the plague was in full effect and figured out planetary motion!!! He was also Knighted by the monarchs. Sir Issac Newton was a Knight. That is why he has “sir” as a little prefix. The reason for all of this sudden royalty for him was because the government began to see truth inside his scientific studies. This gave him some breathing room more than ever and is also where his government
